What one burner would you (or do you) use for 11 gallon AG batches?
I have a stand similar to the Bayou Classic SP50 but the burner is rusted out. Should I be looking at high pressure burners or low?

I am looking at 50,000 BTUs with a low pressure regulator

or

150,000 BTUs and a high pressure regulator

Any thoughts would be helpful. My lean is the high pressure 150k BTU option.

I use the 150k one, i didn't realize it was 150k btu. It takes me about 1 hour to bring 15 gallons of water to a boil.

That's what I was afraid of, does it use a lot of propane?

I went downstairs to see if I have the same setup. The burner loos the same as you have pictured, and my regulator is 10 psi. I swore when I bought the thing it said it was 55k btu. It was a walmart turkey fryer, i got it back in '05.

I probably use 2 or 3 bottles of propane a year, and I get about 4 or 5 13 gallon batches out of each bottle. I use a keggle, and I do all grain batches. If your kettle is aluminum or copper, or your BK is wider, I think you could get 5 or 6 batches.

I'm also impatient. When i run it I run it wide open, and I boil hard for 90 minutes. Doing a little math, I get about 15 hours of run time per bottle.
