Fuggle is a little more spicy. Both are aromatic and delicious. You can use them interchangeably in most English styles

To me,fuggle is earthy with a bit of herbiness to it. While east kent golding is like herbs with lemongrass. Def not the same,as they are many times used together in English ales rather than one subing for the other.

I wouldn't go out of my way to use them interchangeably, but I wouldn't delay brewday if I only had one or the other.
