    Festbier World's Best Oktoberfest

I just couldn't wait any longer. Especially, with all the Oktoberfest and Harvest Style beers already on the shelves. This beer is great! Flat out, great! I will brew this again and again and again. Great recipe, thanks for sharing.

    Bells Oberon Clone

I've batch sparged with a braid 4 times this year so far with this recipe...all have been magnificent. No problem with your plan whatsoever. Go for it! And yes, I use a higher qt/lb ratio when doing decoctions. For this recipe 2 qt/lb has worked great for me.

You won't be disappointed, this recipe is top notch. We've drank 20 gallons of this so far in 2012.

    Festbier World's Best Oktoberfest

Well, I just brewed the OP's recipe with one minor change. I went with a single decoction instead of a double. I rested the mash at 133F 20 minutes, withdrew my decoction, boiled for 10 minutes, then added decoction back to main mash and rested at 150F for 60 minutes. I then batched...

    Festbier World's Best Oktoberfest

Was this the double decoction or the single infusion you mentioned on the previous page? I know i am a bit late, but i really want to brew an Oktoberfest and I have been comparing this one to Yooper's and I think I want to brew this one. I have done DD in the past and it sure takes some...

    My Next Experiment!

When I make "fruit" beers, I always use fresh fruit either pureed or squeezed for the juice. I then put the fruit juice or puree into secondary and rack onto it once FG is reached. Of course, the fructose will kick start the yeast into more fermentation. Usually about two weeks in secondary...

Blew lid off FV, is batch screwed?

Glad to hear all the positive comments. I'll update with any news. Right now it's still bubbling away in it's airlock.:mug:

Blew lid off FV, is batch screwed?

Well, I finally got to experience a complete blow off. Brewed an Oberon clone yesterday and pitched Wyeast 1010 Amer. Wheat at about 4:00pm. This morning airlock was bubbling away like crazy, 3 or 4 bubbles per second. Looking back, pretty obvious a blow off tube was needed. I went to...

    Bells Oberon Clone

I just brewed this recipe again for the second time because it was SO good the first time around. I followed Crypto's latest version as I did before although this time i made some minor changes including The intentional one- single decoction done between protein rest and sac rest instead of...

Keezer Build - Tips and Lessons Learned

A couple questions: How did you mount your CO2 distributor to the collar? Screws through the plastic and foam into the wood? possibly caulk? What power supply did you use for your bilge fan? I am assuming it is DC power?
