    Degassing with a vacuum pump

Thanks for all your comments! I think all I was doing was overstressing my new pump. I going to try racking the wine in a vacuum to degass, that seems to be a good technique.

    Degassing with a vacuum pump

I just got a medical grade vacuum pump off ebay and am amazed at how many bubbles I am getting during degassing. I have some questions: The batch I just finished was at its degassing step, I had already used a whip on drill a few days ago, but put it on the pump. I am using an orange carboy...

    First partial mash--Critique appreciated

Temperature was a little high, 85 degrees. I usually cool my 4 gallon pot in an ice chest, but didn't have any ice so I just added cold water. I have converted a keg to a boiling pot, but need to add a spigot and figure out some type of chiller, but for now I boil 2-3 gallons and add water...

    Homebrewtalk Carboy Cleaner Giveaway

When I stopped brewing 7-8 years ago, my wife was after me to throw everything away. I'm glad I kept my kegs, but where they are is problematic. I used them as a filler in an above ground garden. I am digging them out, but they are very dirty. As a result, I really need one of these cleaners.

I needed a few parts and found them on Amazon. The stuff was shipped on time and I am waiting for it to arrive.

    Homebrewtalk Carboy Cleaner Giveaway

I am just getting back into my homebrew hobby and really need this cleaner to clean the carboys that have been sitting for the last 10 years since I last brewed. At 60 years old, I am very much looking forward to dusting off all my cornys, cleaning out the carboys and getting some batches made.
