German Pils The Lazy German (raw, warm fermented pilsener)

I did 4 gallons drained from mash, and 1 gallon hop tea (2oz Crystal hop). Fermented for 28d in bucket with some safale lager yeast. After two weeks in keg...it's amazing. Thank you

Propane plumbing on my almost finished single tier

I like Mikes idea on dual feeds. Just from looking at it, I think you can get rid of the brass elbow coming out of the burner and have a 1/2" connector for Feed from the valve. Lowes sells yellow supply lines (around the water heaters) that have half inch connection that will plug and play...

DIY Cheese Cave / Wine & Beer Cellar

I know a fellow who, for his existing home, dug out a basement by hand with only a shovel and 5 gallon buckets. Took him 20 years to do a complete basement, and it's just dirt floors, but true dedication!

Imperial Stout Russian Imperial Stout (2011 HBT Competition Category Winner)

This is what 2 packs of s-04 does! We brewed 12 gallons if this yesterday and I almost wish we had done two 6 gallon batches. This is ALOT of grain. We managed 76% eff, but it was really taxing to get there. Bump your grain bill up some and take some of the stress out. Fun brew though. Very...

what size hole to drill for 1/2 fittings

A 1/32 less than 7/8 works for me. But it really depends on you fitting. Threads seems to vary by a 32nd or so. I like to keep it tight as possible. So I drill a little, then try it, then drill a touch more until I can get it where it almost threads in.

    Sky HighBU's

+1 IBU to me has so much more to do with ABV and the FG ( as in how many sugars are left). For your problem, I would try doing the exact same beer again but without the hop sock and maybe try figuring out if you may have any water issues.

I notice on that site they use 1 gallon as the equipment loss. I doubt EdWort uses that parameter. You should input the parameters for your own system. Basically for mash you should figure 1.25 qts per lb and then sparge off whatever it takes to get to your boil volume. That is the KISS method...
