    interesting recipe idea, thoughts?

Hello fellow homebrewers, I recently recalled having a bit of maris otter hanging around so I was trying to plan a different brew using some of the ingredients I already have as well as playing around with some other things, and I came up with this recipe for a kind of refreshing late spring...

    Boiling LME in a bucket?

You could get a large aluminum pot and go weldless on the element fitting. Aluminum pots are much cheaper than stainless (and easier to drill). Hope any of this helps

    Boiling LME in a bucket?

You could get a water-heater element fairly cheap and install it into a metal pot like so many electric brewers on this site use. they all seem complicated because most of them use PID controllers and such to minimize how much work they have to put into a brew day, but when it's all said and...

First High Gravity Beer, any advice?

for those of you who don't have O2 setups, It's a pretty easy and cost effective way if you use a small enough amount. I've done it before. my friends thought it was my best batch yet. hope this is helpful to some

First High Gravity Beer, any advice?

there's been research into using a small drop of olive oil instead of O2. Has to do with giving the yeast the material for cell structure already made as opposed to just the ingredients (O2). Sorry for oversimplifying. It's late, Can't remember. But here's a link, should help, cheers...

    Blender motor ideas?

gear one down and make a mash stirrer? seems like a possibility to me, that or hook one up to a grain mill. but again, with motors that fast you'd have to gear them down.

Anyone use a thermoelectric (peltier) cooler/heater for fermenting?

what if you ran a SS coil through the fermenter-kind of like a wort chiller, but ran water or glycol through it with a small pond pomp and directly attached a peltier or 2 directly to the coil outside of the fermenter? a recirculating chiller concept that could somehow be put into a carboy...

Using milk to stick on labels?

I just left a few cases worth of collected bottles in a big cooler with warm water/oxyclean solution overnight. even got rid of painted labels, i just can't remember if that was only 1 night or 2, but my stone bottles came off clean as any of them!

    late summer amber

hey all, So as I've recently started really getting into brewing (in actually brewing instead of theory and fantasizing) I have started all grain. I can honestly say it was a great step taken in brewing. Biermuncher's centennial blonde went off without a hitch and it turned out great. Now I...

    pull the trigger on this?

Thanks guys. I guess it just all comes down to doing a bit of research instead of just getting excited about finding something that seems like such a great deal at first glance. Thanks for your input

    pull the trigger on this?

hey there, so I was just looking around and stumbled upon what seems to be a find too good to pass up on in case I may choose to start kegging my beer in the future. It's a 2 keg kit selling for $80 that includes a regulator, beer line, gas line, and 2 picnic taps with options for adding a 5 lb...

How many gallons of BierMuncher's Centennial Blonde have been brewed?

2911+5 makes 2916 it was my first AG brew and I was just 2 points below intended SG. Rocky but great inaugural AG brew day and it seems to have blown my extract batches out of the water already. They weren't bad, just not as good. Chalk it up to another all grain win
