Easiest beer I have ever made recipe

When you say that it will taste nothing like the original recipe, it makes me curious. Is there no way to use an all-grain approach to this and get something that's at least similar? I can't imagine that the flavor profile is so unique that only an extract recipe can create it. By the way, in...

Easiest beer I have ever made recipe

What would be a close approximate in all-grain for these? 3.3 lbs extra light extract syrup 3.3 lbs wheat extract syrup 1 lb wheat dry extract .25 lbs carapils/dextrine .25 lbs crystal 20L This is my "house beer", and now that I've gone all-grain, I need to figure out the equivalents...

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

Same exact issue here. I've been trying to build this for the past few days, and I keep running into issues (the first being the washers not fitting over the nipple). Also, yesterday I was really struggling to get anything screwed onto the nipple more than 2-3 turns; ESPECIALLY with the teflon...

HBT- this one is for you

All jokes aside, I don't really think it's necessary to call him a gay retard. It was a simple question, so let's keep it friendly.

HBT- this one is for you

It's a modification of a Northwest Pale Ale I got from my LHBS. I changed to all Cascade hops and altered the hop schedule a bit.

HBT- this one is for you

I have a pipeline. It's just that I'm trying to brew new things rather than the same old, so I don't have a backup on this one. It'll be gone in no time!

HBT- this one is for you

I'll be lucky if this keg lasts until next week!

HBT- this one is for you

Thanks! It is absolutely delicious, and is like a whole other beer when it's dispensed from a keg. It was good in bottles, but now it's great. I told myself 20 minutes ago that it was bedtime, but I couldn't resist putting a few more ounces in my glass to really savor it :)

HBT- this one is for you

It's impossible to really qualify how much help this forum has been to me, especially the beginner's section, but I wanted to say thanks anyway. Besides a couple buddies of mine who brew, this and Palmer's book have been my primary sources of information, and only one of those two can actually...

Easiest beer I have ever made recipe

I ended up getting a pretty decent score on this when I submitted it to the fair (26.2 out of 50, and I knew it fermented too hot), so needless to say this is one of my go-to beers. I just kegged it (first time doing so...what an improvement over bottling!) and was wondering how many units of...

Kegs arriving in 2 days, need a plan

This is the method I'm referring to: 1: seat the lid with 30PSI 2: disconnect gas, and chill overnight 3: reconnect gas at 30PSI for 48hours 4: disconnect gas, bleed off pressure in the keg 5: reset regulator to serving pressure (10-12psi for me) 6: reconnect gas, and let sit for 2-7 days 7...

Kegs arriving in 2 days, need a plan

Beers are in the kegs! I really cleaned them out, put in new o-rings, sanitized, and then filled. I also harvested some yeast for the first time! I need some advice: I have heard to put the kegs in the fridge to chill (NOT ON GAS) overnight and then put them on gas the next day and force carb...

Kegs arriving in 2 days, need a plan

Got it, it was jammed tight in there and I had to crank on it to free it. I now have 2 pieces; the poppet doesn't seem to want to come out, but I can work with that.

Kegs arriving in 2 days, need a plan

I seem to have a little problem. When I remove the in posts from the kegs, it all comes off as one unit, rather than the post, gas in tube, and poppet. This doesn't match up with anything else I have read, and I'm not sure how to disassemble this part so I can clean it and put new gaskets on...

    Yeast Washing Illustrated

Superb, thanks. Out of these options, am I correct to think number 1 is correct? I could see it being the second option as well. But I'm not even sure if it matters at all! Typical Starter Volumes for 5 gallons: To activate the yeast: 1 pint (with 1/4 cup DME) To revitalize yeast past its...

    Yeast Washing Illustrated

Anyone have any insight on numbers 1 or 3? Not imperative that I know right now, but really curious for when I brew this weekend.

    Yeast Washing Illustrated

    I now fully understand. Thanks!

    Yeast Washing Illustrated

Sorry, I'm still confused on what you mean by "pour out" Does "you pour off most of the clear liquid" mean you dump it down the sink? And "shake it up a little and pour the thick part out" means pour that into the starter, meaning it's the part I use? Again, I apologize for seeming naive, but...

    Yeast Washing Illustrated

First of all, thanks for taking the time to write this up; I'm going to try it out tomorrow and am hoping for great results. A couple quick things (Note: if you already answered these, I apologize): 1) Would it work to just use a quart jar for the big vessel and 2 pint jars for the yeast...

Kegs arriving in 2 days, need a plan

Hey, thanks to everyone for the advice! I failed to mention a few things: 1) The kit is coming from KegConnection, and according to them, "These kegs have been cleaned and soaked in a hot "Brew Clean" cleaning solution, re-rinsed, lubed and re-pressurized to check the seals. " I take this to...
