My very first attempt was partial mash but now that I have a Rubbermaid mash tun I do all grain brews. It was good both ways. Would be curious if I could tell a difference between a partial mash and an all grain batch.

Mine was pretty indistinguishable. I did a triangle test and couldn't pick out the odd beer from the 3. I used the Northern Brewer recipe and have had great results each time I've done it (5 times and counting).

Ok, so that explains why the length of the gas in tube doesn't seem to have any effect on how the keg functions.

So does anyone know what the purpose of the gas in tubes is? If you can get by with such a short tube seems like you could go without them entirely.

Very true. I own 2 kegs. One reconditioned which is currently dispensing beer and the second (a used keg) is the bane of my existance.

I bought a new regulator and went to use it for the first time today and noticed it's making a hissing noise. I sprayed some starsan on the regulator and saw bubbles coming out of the backside of the regulator. This isn't normal right? Is this something I can fix? Or should I try and return it...
