    Picobrew Z

I have had my Picobrew Z1 for about 2 months now and just finished a second brewing session with poor OG and clarity. (Kolsh and Coconut Porter). I primarily brew on a half barrel rig and have tons of experience getting spot-on results but wanted a small system to test batches before ramping...

    Picobrew Z

Just ordered mine and cannot wait. My buddy has brewed over 200 batches on his Zymatic and convinced me it’s the way to go for test batches and variation to our more traditional brew sessions. I plan on testing on this unit before scaling up to my 15-gallon rig. Plus it will give me the...

Lagunitas sells to Heineken , another good brewery sells their soul to corpor...

I live down the street and know the brewery very well. Tony McGee will still operate Lagunitas and still design future beers but now under Heineken. Their goal is to create a "craft beer" division, which will be under Lagunitas for worldwide distribution. They mainly just operate out of...

Copper Manifold for Igloo 62-Quart Cooler

After removing the cooler valve assembly the bulkhead simply fit inside that space and I used a washer and gasket to seal it. The 1/2" copper pipe in the last photo posted slipped into the ball valve perfectly and didn't have a gap. I posted the ball valve assembly in my parts list, which is...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

I would look at www.strutchannelfittings.com. I purchased from this site on my custom build that has stainless steel on top and was very satisfied with the service and quality of receiving exactly what I ordered. Plus they were able to cut down pieces to the exact measurements I shared with...

    PB2 Peanut Butter Powder Utilization

I'll be brewing a Peanut Butter Cup Stout on Sunday using PB2, given that it's powder-based and removes most of the oils based on other threads using PB2. I will definitely keep you updated as I want a chocolatey-peanuty aroma/taste thru and thru. I saw this recipe posted earlier and modified...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

Very nice! I like the center mounted pumps. Do you find that the the vertical mounting helps with priming them? Any heat issues from the center burner?

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

Here are the pieces we cut to mount the burners to the stand We had to drill one of the holes a bit off kilter due to alignment but it ended up working very well. We started with two 6-foot pieces and cut them each down to 6 - 11" pieces to mount all three burners. The spacing from the burner to...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

I fabricated my own as well. Purchased 2-6ft straps that had holes every 1/2 inch or so. Cut to perfect lengths and the holes lines up spot on to the Blichmann burners. Bent to 90 degree angles and mounted flush. I was quite impressed that it worked so well. I might be able to upload some pics...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

We purchased a stainless steel U-Bolt which went around the pump and long enough to strap through the bottom of the strut. Worked perfectly! You can see the bolt in the picture attached:

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

The stainless strut I ordered was just enough for what was shown. Nothing left over. Heat comes up from the corners a bit and after doing a 30 min test run, I got some discoloration in the SS, but no big deal! No reason to direct heat anywhere else as the get shield on the blichman burners do a...

    Brew Stand Decisions

The stainless steel top of the stand and blichmann burners were the most expensive. But I came in about where I thought I would, which allowed me to invest in some great tubing and stainless steel brew equipment I wanted.

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

We finally completed the brew stand this afternoon. We did a wet run and found zero leaks (liquid or gas) and everything flowed from one kettle to the next very seamlessly. We will be adding an additional pickup tube in the MLT (and maybe HLT) as the system currently leaves behind 1.5...

    Brew Stand Decisions

Here's the brew stand completely assembled with the blichmann gas tubing attached directly to the needle nose valves of the manifold after decoupling them from the propane end.

    Brew Stand Decisions

Yes! We decoupled the propane connection quite easily and used the hose to connect to the manifolds needle nose valves. I'll try to get a picture of that as we mounted everything last week!

    Brew Stand Decisions

Just a follow up from my OP. We ended up constructing a strut channel stand and after sourcing all the hardware, we were able to put it together (without welding) in about 8 hours. We had to cut down some pieces to mount the burners, which took some additional time. All-in-all, it turned out...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

I used the same code bringing the total cost of the stand with all brackets and screws to a little under $500 (stainless steel added $150). Tom and the guys over at G-P LLC were amazing. Received a call from them on a Sunday to talk about the order and get everything going. They were extremely...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

Kserfass - I went with 16-3/4" strut for the depth and height of the stand along with 72" length. This allows me to perfectly sit my 20" diameter pots on the stand above each burner. I did, however, end up paying a little more for SS on the top, didn't want to have to worry about the...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

I was about to purchase those burners but didn't want to put extra work into mounting them, given the 3 legs instead of 4. However, I took a trip to HD and purchased 2x 6ft pieces of 14 gauge pre-drilled steel and cut them up into 11" pieces for each of my 3 burners (I needed a total of 12...
