For Sale FREE - Flip Top Glass Bottles (NE Florida)

I have about four cases of flip top bottles I brought back from Germany several years ago… they’ve been accumulating dust in my garage as I never got the time to get back into home brewing so I’d love for them to go to a new home before they end up in the recycling bin which would be a shame. A...

    International brewers?

I've been brewing in Italy for the last two years, with decent results so far, the local hardware store has a small selection of brewing stuff on hand in addition to all the home wine making stuff, the biggest problem for me was/is keeping temps down in the summer! I probably should of gave in...

Wine on tap by Fermtech.. anyone use this before?

Kevin, Thanks.. that's exactly what my plan was, prob 5 liters at a time for short term dispensing.. it's more convenient for my wife since she doesn't have to open up a whole bottle when I'm away on travel to drink a glass of wine. I'll give a shot and hope for the best. Thanks for all the...

Wine on tap by Fermtech.. anyone use this before?

Yeah.. we have a mini oak barrel that I've modded to hold bags of wine out of the box, and that's what I was trying to aim for with his, except be able to fill it on my own and not worry about the oxidation. Thanks for the input, I'll definitely take a look at some of the other options.

Wine on tap by Fermtech.. anyone use this before?

Fermtech Ltd. - manufacturers of specialty home beer and winemaking equipment Has anyone ever used this? I really can't find anything good or bad with it. Anyways a wine store just opened up in my town, and they sell fresh wine by the liter from their barrels, I want to be able to purchase...

Does any beer get exported from Africa?

I used to live in the western cape of South Africa for a while, and you can buy Castle and Windhoek Lager at a few places in the states.

    Too late to bottle?

Just finished bottling the beer and it tastes awesome.. SG was right at 1.012 and the target range from the kit was 1.012-1.017. Can't wait for it to carb up in a few weeks.. RDWHAHB goes a long way :mug:

    Too late to bottle?

Thanks for the advice, I'll let you know how it comes out. Like I said in my post, my intent wasn't to let it age for two months, work for me is either feast or famine, and the last few weeks prevented me any time off to devote to home brewing. But definitely lesson learned, for hefe's in the...

    Too late to bottle?

I'm in the same boat, I have a batch of hefeweizen that was in the primary for about two months, it sat in my cellar where the temps range from 75 to 80 degrees.. unfortunately due to work obligations blowing up at the last minute I was unable to bottle this batch (Couldn't turn down work...

    Belgium: 2 weeks out!

I'm jealous.. I get to venture out to Belgium frequently for work.. one of my favorite countries.. Brussels is great, but Bruges is awesome. In Bruges I highly recommend renting bikes and exploring the city... a great bar to samples a few rolled oat sodas is Erasmus. I'm taking the SWMBO this...

    any good IPA extracts?

I'm using the same yeast.. I did shake it, but it took me like five hours to cool the wort to around 80ish so I definitely pitched it when it was warm. I like the mesh bag idea I might have to try it.. As for the pliny I'll be in Texas this time around but I have a work trip out west in July so...

    any good IPA extracts?

Awesome.. yeah I unfortunately wasn't able to measure the OG.. the hydrometer that arrived was broken.. and the ones they sell out in town here just gives you a final alcohol reading. But yeah.. it was fermenting vigorously for about two weeks and finally tapered off I gave it a few days then...

    any good IPA extracts?

Nice! I'm currently doing the kit as my first home brew.. How long did you ferment it in the primary before bottling? I just added the dry hops last night after two weeks.. So my plan is to dry hop it for 10 days then bottle next saturday.. What was your FG? I haven't seen much posts about this...
