    Desert Hackberry

Never seen them sold anywhere. I know a few places where they grow wild and I can harvest them

    Desert Hackberry

Anyone try Desert Hackberries in their beer or know of anyone who has? They grow out here in AZ and have a sweet, almost strawberry like, flavor. Always looking to try something new

    Keg help

Carb it using "set and forget". Temp it right around 38/40 or so (have an old school dial type temp controller so it's hard to say for sure)

    Keg help

Thanks Yooper. I'll check out 3/16" and hope that helps. Went with the 1/4 because that's what LHBS sold me initially :)

    Keg help

Just started kegging my beer. I have two kegs in a chest freezer, converting to keezer soon. Kegs are at 10 psi and have picnic taps on 8' 1/4" id tubes. All I'm getting is foam? Any suggestions? LHBS sold me picnic taps with 2' lines and said that was all I needed which didn't work. Upped to 8'...

    Thanks

I fully understand. In the midst of remembering the fallen I also wanted to thank those who are still around to receive it

    Help my wheat

In my experience time tends to heal most issues. Stick it somewhere dark and cool and let it sit for a while

    Your favorite top five beers?

In no particular order: Oak Creek Brewery - Amber Ale Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout Tripel Karmelite Sonoran Brewery - White Chocolate Ale Strongbow Cider (I know not beer)

    Any ideas?

Second this. I found temp control improved the quality of my beer more than just about anything else I have done

    Thanks

Huge thank you to all of you who are Veterans/Active Duty. Thanks for doing what you do so that I can do what I do. Tonight I raise a glass in your honor

    thinking about getting a BICYCLE

Funny, I'm just about the same size as you, 6' 286, and recently started riding a bike to try and lose some weight and get exercise. I inherited my bike from a friend whose husband passed away a couple years ago. It's a great bike and perfect for a big guy like me. It's a Gary Fisher Tiburon...

    Quick keezer question

My understanding is that it depends on the freezer. Some are deep enough to fit kegs and some aren't. Most collars are for the taps though.

    Lost a good one

Having a pint tonight in honor of Gregory Fretz, co owner/founder of Phoenix Ale Brewery here in AZ. Unfortunately he lost his battle with cancer this morning. He was a great ambassador for the Craft industry. Going to be missed

    Brewing in Arizona

I've been brewing in AZ for four years and just got a fermentation chamber set up this year. I used to put a plastic tub filled with water in my hall bath, put my fermentation bucket in that, cover with a towel and using a small pump circulate water from the plastic tub over the towel. It...

    Prayers for Boston

Sad to hear the news coming from Boston. Hits close to home since my wife is a marathon runner and ran Boston last year. She had friends running it this year who are safe but they haven't heard from friends/family waiting for them at the finish line. Thoughts and prayers go out to all involved

    I want to cry :smh:

No other idiot to blame but myself ;) trying to do too many things at the same time

    I want to cry :smh:

Yeah very hop heavy, about 8oz Citra, 2oz Amarillo and 1oz Nugget (total of about $22 right there). Hurts the wallet which is why this was so frustrating. Hopefully as I start doing more all grain and buying in bulk it will cheapen out

    I want to cry :smh:

I was able to get those out since they sank to the bottom pretty quick. I siphoned to another sanitized bucket using a filter. Lost about a gallon of beer though
