The heat sink is mounted outside the enclosure. Very similar to jkarp's counter top brutus control panel. I put the tip of my thermopen on it and it read 132 degrees and climbing. Just wasn't sure if this was normal.

Just curious. I recently completed my ekettle build and have been testing it with water. I noticed the heat sink gets pretty hot. I have a 120v 2000w element in a turkey fryer kettle. Got one of the cheap eBay SSR and heat sink combos.

I used one I made for about 6 months. Eventually I had to re rough the rollers almost every time I brewed. I also never really trusted the crush. My new grain mill will be here Monday.

I use the lightbulb in a paint can method. Works great.

Is there any reason it would be bad to use a stainless steel screw to attach the ground wire to the kettle? I am using a turkey fryer so I don't have a skirt like on a keggle.
