    New Kentucky commercial hop farm

This will take a lot of time, but in the next couple of years I'll have finished setting up a commercial hop farm in the field pictured above. I'll be sourcing the poles from discarded power poles. They're free. I'll be doing all of the labor myself in my free time, I wasn't doing much anyway...

    Bar Build

Only about halfway done. Now I just need to make it pretty. Hardwood trim, bar rail, and bar surface.

    Replacing vertical lines not required.

I'm not sure if this has been covered before but I wanted to tell everyone how I have my hops set up and maybe save some work for some people. When planning my hop trellis I wanted to have a system that would make hand picking easy and safe. To be safe, I would need to keep both feet on the...

    Watlow 93 wiring

I have a watlow 93 pid controller that I can't seem to get working. I have power to the unit but not out if the ssr. Here is the wiring diagram from the manual, my unit is the first listed. My ssr is a watlow 240v 25 amp and the control side is dc ranging from 3 to 32 v. Does anyone have any...

New brew stand: Long project in the making!

That's only one of the kegs that will be used. This is a repurposed mixer used in the soft drink industry. It will be all electric and rims. Thus the saga begins! Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Heat stick build

Built two of these with 1500 watt 120v elements. Will be testing for water proofness tonight. Hopefully will brew with them tomorrow night. Drew inspiration from the various online sources as far as directions go.

    Perfect summer beer

A 3% hefeweizen with WB-06 and 1oz of coriander. There's not much coriander flavor/aroma as I don't think it was very fresh. Either way, so delicious and thirst quenching.

    Keg leaked

Put a stout in a keg to carb and apparently didn't catch that it was barely leaking. It carbed up but I guess it slowly leaked out all of my gas. Now here's my question. How long do you think the beer will stay good in the barely leaking leg? I fear the ever so slowly oxygen seeping in will...

    Cascade dead?

I put a cascade rhizome in the ground earlier this spring and it grew a nine about 5 inches tall and then it got really hot one day and now the bine is withered and dead. Did the heat kill it or can a rhizome just crap out like that? All of my other varietals are doing just fine. Edit: grew a bine

    Farmin

I've got chinook, centennial, cascades, and Saaz. My friend has four more on order, but I don't remember what they are. Hopefully will have pics of healthy bines soon.

    Steam beer with S-23

I brewed up a steam beer with S-23 yesterday and came home tonight to airlock activity. I smelled it and it doesn't smell like s**t. It smells great coming out of the airlock. I've been searching and have found mixed opinions about this yeast. However, I have faith. I'll let y'all know in a...

    Beer menu

SWMBO and I are on vacay in NC and are staying a night at the Inn on Biltmore. We went to the tavern to eat dinner and so I could indulge in some fine liquids. I started looking over their beer menu and noticed something ive never seen before. The whole menu is local brews, craft brews and...

I will never use liquid yeast again.

Not that I ever really had a problem with liquid yeast, but I did an IPA today and used s-04, sprinkled it on top of the wort and stirred 10 minutes later. Not more than 6 hours later, its bubbling away happily:ban:. In the future, unless dictated by style, I will never use liquid yeast and...

    Storing

How long can you store a keg at room temp and cool it by running it through a jockey box at serving? Just wondering if keeping the beer in a keg at room temp would really make a difference?

    AG Newbie

I just had a question. I'm starting my fist AG batch soon and was wondering if I bought a big bag o' malt how long will it keep in a fairly constant 66 degree basement?
