    Bottle label removal

+1 on running the bottles in the dishwasher. The hot rinse usually gets the labels off, and a machine dose the work for you, wonderful! BTW my personal favs are the Deschutes Brewery bottles, slim, and a bit of raised hop design on the rim. Of course the lables are easy to get off too!:rockin:

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Just got a Dawson's Multi Grain kit from NB into my fermentor. It may turn out to be the prettest beer we've ever made. ...oh it finished with an OG of 1040.

Will you buy Goose Island beers now?

Been better off with SAM http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=SAM&t=1y&l=on&z=l&q=l&c=bud I voted "NO", but GI's not availible in NV to my knowledge anyway.

    Is homebrewing that creative?

Us too, we homebrew, and rarely play around with the recipies. However, we love trying to invent gadgets from the hardware store to help out our process.

Lent sucks when you give up beer, and begin to obsess about beer.

Be sure to make it a good one! It's a good idea IMHO, to give adjunct beers anyway. Life's too short to drink crappy beers.

Home Brewer TV #29 Yeast and Kegging

We stop in almost every time we're in Reno. Great food, greater beer! I'm glad to hear the owner is a supporter as well.

Home Brewer TV #29 Yeast and Kegging

My wife just found your short shows on You-Tube. This past show was the first show I watched, and it was very educational! Thanks. BTW were you at Great Basin Brewery?

I wish I knew then what I know now.... A list of some lessons learned!

+1 on the brew log. We started home brewing about ten years ago, in college to be cheap. We recently re-started home brewing, this time with the intent of making fine beers. One of the things we started doing was keeping a detailed log during brew day. Since we now have a couple beers in the...

Favorite non-homebrew to buy to use to bottle

Deschutes must use the absolute cheapest glue on their labels. That's fine though, I like their beer and the easy to remove lables are a plus. I also like SN, and Samual Smith's. I like the bigger bottles from Sam Smith, less cleaning!

    Anyone using PLC's?

I don't have an all grain set-up yet, but when I do build mine I'd like to use a PLC to control it. I am thinking of using a Modicon Momentum, or possibly an AB Micrologic. I believe using PLC's would be far better then using single loop controllers. JMHO

what is your go-to cheap beer?

Budweiser. I know its pretty much crap beer, but sometimes when we have a get together, not all my friends enjoy good beer, so I grab a 12'er of Bud. Heck sometimes I can even stomach it myself.

    Hello from Nevada

Hi board, Just writing to introduce myself, we're simple extract brewers ATM, probably have brewed less then 15 batches. But we certainly enjoy the hobby, and are looking to advance our homebrewing. My wife found this site and I've been pretty busy since reading through all the threads...

    The cigar thread

The Rocky Patel sounds good, for a really good mild smoke I suggest to my friends a Rocky Patel Connecticut, Olivas are good too. I haven't as yet tried an Acid, I guess the notion of an infused cigar brings to mind a cheapy flavored cigar. Reading the comments though from jbrookeiv, I might...

    Electrical Primer for Brewers

Thanks for the welcome CodeRage! I work in the gold mineing industry though, not coal. I automate the extraction of gold from it's host rock through the Merrill Crowe process. This entails grinding, leaching with cyanide, plenty of de-arration, lead introduction, DE, as well as filter...
