Rip out the partition between fridge and freezer

I have an upright fridge as a fermentation chamber, unfortunately its too short for my conical with an airlock on it (just barely). The freezer part isn't being used for anything so im thinking of cutting out the partition and making one big chamber in it. Has anyone else done this? are there...

cutting freezer partition for ferm fridge

Well, in my case, I'm needing the extra space, so I can build a shelf mid level shelf and have some more fermenters going. But the more I think about it, it might just be better to sell the fridge and get an upright freezer for the same purpose. But I'd still rather mod what I got then go...

cutting freezer partition for ferm fridge

Ok, search isn't working on my kindle fire, so please forgive me if there's another thread on the subject, but, I was wondering if any if you have tried cutting out the partition between the fridge and freezer on an upright to expand the storage space. As of now I can only hold 2 fermenters...

    My first recipe

OK, so I did some searching for an American Black IPA/Cascadian Dark/Black IPA/yadda yadda and came across several recipes out there for the style. So I took some notes from them and made my own. I'm new to brewing but I knew with this style i wanted around 60-70 IBU and to lean more toward...

    Beersmith IBU problem

Wow, I added 2.0 LBS of the LME at 60mins, and 5.5 at 15 mins, and it brought the IBU up to 60! What a difference! Thanks!

    Need a recommendation for a Cascadian/American Black

@ dirtrymartini I agree on the floral hops, I'm gonna do some research for flavor profiles of these hops and play around a bit. This will be an excellent learning experience!

    Beersmith IBU problem

When I get back home in a few days, I'll definitly give that a try. I'm trying to stay away from just reading recipes out of a magazine and getting down to the nitty gritty. It's a steep curve! Thanks for the tip!

    Need a recommendation for a Cascadian/American Black

Thanks for the recipe!! Definitly going on my brew schedule! But I think its a bit more bitter than what I'm looking for atm. Blackened hops sits around 80 IBU I believe. Still no reply from Rodney :(

    NattyBrew's Electric Brewery Build

    MoreBeer Braumeister?

You need to have a source of 220v power. If you have that then using electricity can become an advantage. Because of size constraints of the mash tub the largest starting gravity beer you can brew is around 1.057. You can always add DME to the boil for an occasional big beer brew. Holy crap...

    Beersmith IBU problem

Ok, so i plugged the following recipe in to beersmith and it's calculating 35 IBU. But the recipe claims 65. I can get to 65 if i double the 75min warrior hop addition to 2.0 ounces instead of 1, but if im doing this all wrong then I don't want to overdo it. Widmer Brewing Co.W-10 Pitch...

Can I use beergas/nitrogen on a cascadian dark?

So, before my next brew, I'm building a kegerator. And I'm looking at pics of other peoples brews, and saw Captain Bigelows Caffrey's Irish Ale clone in all its nitrogen frothy goodness. So I was wondering, what would stop me from doing that to a cascadian dark/black IPA? Would it have that...
