    Firestone walker parabola

I never ended up brewing this recipe, instead I used parts of it for inspiration, and combined bits and pieces from other RIS recipes. End result was a great stout, but not oak aged or 12.5%, so not so much a parabola clone. Good Luck though if you take a shot at the Parabola!

    dry hopping without a bag?

Nice to hear some different opinions! I think I'll test it out and see which yields better aroma with my next batch...another question though as someone brought up o2, when racking to secondary are there concerns with trapping oxygen from the empty carboy in when you fill it? Does anyone give it...

    dry hopping without a bag?

That makes sense. So really the only good way to tell if it makes a difference would be to split a batch into seperate secondaries and dry hop one with a bag and one without?

    dry hopping without a bag?

In the past whenever I have dry hopped I put it in a hop/grain bag, but my brother was recently talking to a guy at a beer tasting who suggested getting rid of the bag... The thought behind it was that when the hops are contained in the bag they coke in contact with only a small percentage of...

    New brew keggle questions

I did the exact same thing! Made my kettle first and then my starter, and as I got my plan together for my brewday realized that I had no way to get my wort out of the keg... I just cooled it and then used my racking cane, and it worked great! Cheers!

Great, thanks guys! I'll take a reading and then let it sit a couple more days and see if it drops, I've never checked the gravity if it still has krausen, but I'll check it. Not in a rush really, just curious

    wlp300 2 weeks in...

A couple weeks ago I brewed an AG dunkelweizen, and it's been fermenting away at around 66F down in the basement. From everything I read about this yeast I expected to primary for about 2 weeks and then bottle, but I just took a peek to see if fermentation was over or at least slowing and to my...

    When to step mash?

I've got two AG batches under my belt right now, and I've been going with a fly by the seat of my pants RDWHAHB approach so far just to get a feel for the additional steps and equipment. Everything has gone smoothly so far and now I'm wondering when to step mash instead of a single infusion...
