Just got back from the feed store. You should look for something like this. Nothing but corn.

The bags at the feed store will have the ingredients listed on them. Look for the ones that only list corn and no other additives. Some will have additives to help preserve the corn that can hamper fermentation

If you want a cheap alternative to those expensive drip trays you might want to look at a stainless steel smoker box

+1 on the hard drive magnets. That’s what I used. They hold good and easy to remove for cleaning.

I’m doing a similar build and was curious which route you decided to take and how it’s working out. Did you connect the SSR's directly to the Pi GPIOs or did you use an expansion board?
