i'll keep you posted. it definitely requires a starter as it's apparent they don't turn over as many of these as they do the other Wyeast strains. My pack was already a month old when it arrived..

brewing mine this weekend. ordered two extra ounces of Falconer's flight and one extra of cascade. going to flame out with a cascade/FF combo and dry hop with a cascade/FF combo. also planning to use AHS own Greenbelt yeast.

that's mainly for the LME kits. DME, grains, etc obviously have a better shelf life.

i waste too much star-san. i plan to change my methods.

odor will fade in time. i find it fades faster in glass primaries. i remember cleaning one after a massive dry hop and thought i'd have to replace the entire thing. it was barely noticeable by the next brew session

The dumbest move I made was getting into this hobby by splitting a starter brewing system and extract kit with 2 other guys. It's no fun brewing and only getting 12-18 beers out of the deal. This went on for the first 3-4 batches before I finally branched out on my own and "bought them out"...
