    Buying pre-poured agar plates?

After a couple splendidly disastrous attempts at pouring my own plates (pretty certain I started COVID in my kitchen) I started to wonder about the pre poured agar plates I’ve seen on Etsy. They look economical enough for my purposes but there are many different kinds. Potato…malt etc. which...

    RIMS Innaugural Brew

So after running four brews on this system, I gotta say the false bottom that came with my 50qt Colorado Brewing System mash tun is not doing it for me. Originally it sat over three inches above the bottom calling for an additional 3 gallons (!) of strike water. I got out my angle grinder and...

    RIMS Innaugural Brew

It must. I only ever used a manifold when I was mashing in a cooler since the plastic cooler bottoms always warped and stick the mash.

    RIMS Innaugural Brew

Yup. Before I went RIMS I used a cooler with a commercial false bottom. If (when) the bottom of the cooler gets warped out of shape by heat, the false bottom fails and it’s stuck city. I wound up making a manifold out copper pipe that I slatted with my bandsaw and a bi-metal blade. With the rims...

    RIMS Innaugural Brew

Not sure what you mean by Manifold in this case (hence why it took me three plus years to piece this thing together). Basically nothing fancy. Pick-up tube under stainless false bottom pressure fit to bulkhead. Ball valve outside to silicon tubing to pump and then to heater side of tri-clover...

    RIMS Innaugural Brew

That’s very do-able as i have lots of spare hose and threaded barbs. Do you just guide the hose around the interior of the kettle and direct the flow on the kettle wall? Kind of like a whirlpool? Thanks.

    RIMS Innaugural Brew

Been lurking for years. Kinda hard to ask a question when the answer to everything is archived on here. Anyways after three years of collecting parts, researching this forum and bribing friends with welding and electronics skills, I finally had my inaugural bees session with my RIMS system...

Fear the Walking Dead - Jimbo's Beerbos

Wait....wasn’t the “filthy lady” listening in to the convo on the radio band? Then she wrote the recipe out on dead-jimbo’s face. So she knows the secret ingredient, and it should be written on dead-bo’s face!

    Brutus 10 Burner info

Ok, so let me understand this. I may be smoking dope here, but again, this project and my knowledge of gas plumbing are in it's infancy. (got a B.I.L. who will be doing the gas fitting for me he doesn't know anything about brewing so I want to make sure I have the proper parts for him) So Day...

    Brutus 10 Burner info

Thanks bro! I was leaning towards a Banjo style burner and i like the BG14 price. Am I gonna need a regulator and an orifice too?

    Brutus 10 Burner info

Long time lurker here. First off. I want to thank everyone on here for all the great info over the years! One of the reasons I've lurked so long is because most every question I need an answer to can be found with a quick search. There are, however, many many answers to the old question "What...
