    Franziskaner 16.9 oz bottles

    I was trying to find a wholesale seller of the 16.9 oz. "Franziskaner style" bottles and didn't have any luck. I want to use them to bottle homebrewed beer and soda for wedding favors and need about 200 or so. Any idea where I can buy some in bulk? I like Franzisaner but not that much to drink...

    Boiling water is Ok to add to the mash, just add slowly. I don't know how necessary it is to mix with a drill. It could be detrimental to the beer if it splashes too much and gets oxygenated. Have you ever thought about doing a decoction or two? You can increase temp without increasing mash...

    Yes... Totally interested. I am tired of them showing age after only a few batches. I guess you can't use water that it is too hot when cleaning, but cold water never cleaned anything very well.     Make sure you have a boil screen or something to block the hops and trub, so you don't clog the chiller.

    Yeah keep it upstairs and try it another few weeks. You can even turn each bottle upside down for a minute or so to get the yeast back in suspension. You probably just have lazy yeast.
