    Huge yeast cake (pics)

I kegged this a couple of weeks back, and it turned out rather well.

HUGE yeast cake. Should I make up the lost volume with water?

I had a very similar result in my breakfast stout. That thread is here. I left mine in primary for 4 weeks, and it did not compact. I ended up just getting just 3-3.5 gallons out of it, but it tastes good.

I actually haven't kegged it yet - keezer was full - so it's still sitting in secondary.

50' wort chiller. Good to know - Thanks Sigfried Isn't 4 weeks about the longest most people recommend leaving beer on the yeast in primary?

    Huge yeast cake (pics)

Good questions - I should have included more info in the original post. It was in primary for 4 weeks, so I don't think settling should have been the issue. I use bags for my pellet hops which keeps most of that junk out of the primary. Break material is, perhaps, a possibility, but I've never...

    Huge yeast cake (pics)

I recently made a breakfast stout from a NB kit with Notty dry yeast (also steeped some coffee after the boil) and ended up with a massive yeast cake. Really it was more of a pudding. Maybe it wasn't actually yeast? I was only able to siphon about 2.5 - 3 gal out when racking to secondary. This...

My new logo, check it out, review it.

This is one of my favorites that I've seen around here. Nice work!

    Any one use cornykeg.com?

The page says they are coke pin locks converted to ball lock, so beware of the size difference for your kegerator/keezer

Beer Selector: AKA who has free time to progam this?

It might be more straight forward to input actual beers that one likes rather than descriptions / flavors, but I like the idea. Just a thought...

How about buying a space heater and hooking it up to a temp controller?

Air getting into beer line (video)

Awesome! Yeah, I'm wondering how many defective ones made it into consumers' hands and how many people are cursing up and down trying to fix the problem.

Air getting into beer line (video)

Looks like the video in the original post has already been dropped by the hosting site. I can't edit the original post for some reason, so am linking here to a more permanent location (my public dropbox area). I'll update the original post if the editing issue gets worked out. See video here...

Major Foaming Issues...and have no solutions??? HELP!

Here's that thread: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/air-getting-into-beer-line-video-179013/ Do what SweetSounds said (swap lines, etc) and see if you can narrow it down.

Sizing your Chest Freezer for Corny Kegs

The Sunbeam 7.2 at Menards - see here - will fit 4 ball locks without a collar. I currently have two ball locks and a slim quarter barrel on the floor in there. I got this freezer because it will fit a 1/2 barrel if I ever wanted that. I still installed a collar for a place to put taps.

CO2 Bottle PSI drop in Keezer?

I couldn't find the table I was looking for, but this vapor pressure chart is more informative anyway. http://www.teamonslaught.fsnet.co.uk/co2pv.gif Taken from the page: http://www.teamonslaught.fsnet.co.uk/co2_info.htm You can see the gauge pressure remains constant (for a given temperature)...

    Having some kegging problems

Is the beer pure foam already as it leaves the keg and enters the line? I had that problem, and it took a while to track down...was a faulty QD. Just a thought...Check this thread if so. Thread

AC going to be shut off

Well, I don't have any bottled beer, and never have (homebrew, I mean)...started straight with kegging. I thought it was pretty bad for bottled beer to get too hot (say trunk of your car), but I'm glad to hear most people think it's not going to be too bad. It certainly won't be getting as hot...
