any reason you just don't use the StarSan when brewing wine?

wow, that is really sad looking crush. I guess if he claims the "settings are correct" then he needs to check that his equipment isn't F'd up. I'm surprised you got what you did out of that.

thanks guys/gals. Yes, I am just doing a kit for now, but am very interested in the process, ingredients and such. Just like when I started with my first beer kit, would like to familiar myself with the big picture and get some knowledge while also following the directions. :mug:

Eqiuvilant to say, Charlie Papazian's "The Complete Joy of Homebrewing". Bought my first kit last week and I'm going to have some free time coming up this weekend. Want to make sure I'm on top of things before jumping in. :p

Anybody brew this kit? I picked it up the other day at the local homebrew store, and can't wait to get started. I've been brewing beer for a couple of years, and this will be my first wine :mug: I really like the taste of a good zin. I prefer a big bodied (not too dry) red wine, like zin's...

I've always just added the extract (100% of it) to the last 15-20min of the boil, for light beers at least
