I've been wanting to try Heady Topper, but alas I am stuck in the beer desert of Kansas. I have some 2010 Abyss' hanging out in my cellar and would like to trade. PM me if you're interested and we can get things going :mug:
Ok, I need everyone to go and vote for my picture so I can win some cool shwag from KegWorks. I have from today until Friday to get as many "Likes" as possible on it.

Chshre, have you seen the Widmer Brother's Reserve Brrrbon? I picked up a bottle of it last week, but haven't had a chance to crack it open yet.

I use a pretty similar setup, Coleman Xtreme 70qt, except I fly sparge. I just did two 5.5 gal batches on Friday, both were 10# grain bills. I got 75% efficiency on the first and 80% on the second. I usually get 80-85%, but haven't had time to brew much lately so I screwed up my sparge on...
I've never used fresh wet hops in a brew before, but thought that it's something I would really like to try since I love Fresh Hop Ales. I put out the call on Facebook and a freind said that her brother grows some on his property just for looks. She was heading over to his house for the...
I sent the design in to them to have it engraved. It's not something they offer standard, but you can have anything that will fit on the case etched, laser cut, or embossed on it, you just have to submit a file with what you want. It was super easy.
Here's my new custom iPhone 4 bamboo case complete with an engraved hop cone. It took me 2 weeks to get the phone and 4 weeks to get the case, but it was worth it. It came out looking better then I expected and everyone that sees it asks me about it. :mug:
Two of mine came from a friend that found them in the middle of the woods while camping. The third was from another homebrewer that had cut the top out already, but hadn't made it into a full keggle yet. I traded a 5 gallon batch of my Blonde Ale for the first two and paid $30 I think for the...
I just made my first Saison this week and started it with 3724 on Wednesday around 5PM, SG-1.066 and it was actively fermenting within 3 hours. The fermenter temp was 87F. I shut off the heating pad Friday morning when the fermentation started slowing down and let the fermenter cool to the mid...
I was in Home Depot and saw that today. I picked it up for under $8 and it looks like it's going to work great. Drilled some holes in it and sanded the whole thing smooth.
Pretty much what Walker said sounds right. I have used the 1968 before and it ferments fast and flocculates like crazy. My ESB was crazy clear after 5 days in primary. It seriously looked like I had already cold crashed it. Give the batch with the 1098 some time to floc out and the color...
Both those are great suggestions. I use black patent in my porter and only Northern Brewer and it's the best beer I've made. I've had several people tell me it's the best porter they've ever had.
When you are scrubbing out the floor drains make sure that you're knee is not resting in a puddle of caustic. You won't notice it until you're done and the skin on your knee will hurt for the rest of the day while you're scrubbing out the brew kettle and washing kegs. You'll forget about it...
