    What did I make?

    Test my FG on this its ended up at .996 that puts me over 11% deffinatly a wine, not to bad actually but pretty dry... Any recommendations as far as backsweeting this? If I add sugers at this point will it just restart or do I have to kill the yeasts to do that... Thanks in advance

    2.5 Gallon batch 2 gallons apple juice (brand???) 2 apple juice concentrates (brand???) 3 cups of suger some cinnamin mutons yeast og 1.080 fermenting nicely Will it turn out as a descent drink or just be garbage.

    Hefeweizen came out dark I think??

    My hefe appeared dark all the way up until I poured it, it turned out a perfect color. Not that it really matters but I was concern I screwed something up, but it tasted perfect and presents its self great. I would'nt worry to much.

    7.00 for a pound of malt is pricey, can be had elsewhere for around 4.00 to 5.00 per pound, you are gonna need approx 5-6 pounds of malt.... the kits contain everything for considerably less, I would just buy a basic kit, would be less expensive and even comes with exactly what you need.     I have found that midwestsupplies has some inexpensice kits that come with everything you need (except bottles, and caps) for around 24.99....thats pretty cheap for 50 beers.

    I drink probable 6 home brews to every 1 store bought...I havnt bought anything but pop top bottles since I started brewing. So I guess I am buying the bottles for my personal use, and I've gotta do something with the ber inside, right???? :tank:

    Ideas to keep fermenter warm

    I wrap mine in a sleeping bag opening it up a little to adjust the heat, has worked well to get to my FG and keep my temp close to 68 degrees.

    I play softball, and bowl....I really get into the equipment side of those sports. Naturally love all sports, camping and hunting....thats about it... is sex a hobby????

    I will always drink Bud Light when playing or watching softball, not many good beers in cans. A buddy goes back to PA approx twice a year and shoots back a few cases of yuengleng.
