So it seems like the vote is to replace the galvanized fittings with the SS ones. The NEW welder I have said he would have to cut out the area around the fittings and patch them with SS. Does that sound right? As you can tell I don't know much about welding so I am trying to be extra careful...

The guy I have welding said he couldn't just cut the fittings out. He would have to cut out the SS and re-patch it. Does that sound right?

Thanks for all the quick replies. One problem I am running into with freezers at Lowes and other stores isnt the depht, I can make a collar. Its the width or length of the freezer. Also I am making this for a friend so I want it to be a new freezer not a used one.

Well thanks guys you have solved my CO2 problem. I thought the guy at the liquor store was a real straight shooter. (hangover quote) But the regulator he sent me had a leak in the connection that I cant fix. Already ordered a new one and soon she'll be flowing like the Nile.

Is there anyway to test if theres a leak in the line?

I have a 10lbs CO2 tank and I keep losing all the gas with like 1.5 kegs. Does anyone know what could be happening? I don't think I have a leak in the line. Anybody have any suggestions?
