I have done grain that I have had for two years. The last Moore at thing is trump and humidity control. My brewery stays between 65 and 79 @ 45 Per cent humidity.

I just carefully remove the lid. There is a layer of CO2 on top of the beer. CO2 is heavier than Oxygen, so it separates the beer from the oxygen.

Hmm Perhaps I should look into that the next time I empty my FF (in about 10 minutes). I never considered that.

Specifically? Never. When I am done kegging I fill the FF with water and a half scoop of OxyClean. Rinse after 24 hours and the whole thing is spotless, even the little corners, like aroi nd the thermowell.

I know I need to find something. It has worked fine (a year) up until now If i shake the fermenter just a little, the air lock goes nuts. So I know there is a leak, and it is just tiny enough to let the CO2 escape, and not much else. I will stop by the dollar sttore tomorrow and see...

I really love my FF. But that thing with the lid seal cheapens it. The gasket they send it a POS. Aside from that it is a quality piece of work.
