    New Beer sign

Got the idea when I was in the Swamp Rabbit taproom in Traveler's Rest, SC. Friend of a friend has access to a cnc plasma table and we did the rest by hand. 25 candelabra sockets with 6 watt scoreboard bulbs.

Increase IBUs to compensate for attenuation?

I'm brewing the common room esb and have a yeast question. I want to try out the Wyeast 1469 private stock yeast instead of the s04 the recipe calls for but the attenuation is much lower. The S04 is 73-75% while the wyeast is 67-71%. Think I should increase the IBUs by a couple to compensate...

I'm getting a pound of fresh Simcoe hops from BMW and am trying to work out a hop schedule. For 5 gallons: FWH(60 min) .5oz Columbus 14% 15 min 5oz Wet Simcoe (AA unknown but Beersmith says 13%) 10 min 5oz Wet Simcoe 5 min 5oz Wet Simcoe 0 min .5oz...

    ESB recipe critique

K, I took the Fuller's ESB recipe from either BYO or Clone Brews and tweaked it. I'm looking for opinions. The grainbill is almost identical except I subbed some of the crystal 60 for 40 because I had it on hand. Also I have a lb of US Golding and Fuggle so I used those. What do you think...

    WLP005 good sub for WLP002?

My LHBS is out of Fuller's ESB yeast, WLP002 or Wyeast 1968. Thoughts on a sub? I'm thinking either WLP005 or WLP023. Opinions?

wheat dme preferred for wheat beer starter?

I'm making Edwort's bavarian wheat on Thursday and picking up the yeast this afternoon. I've got plenty of dme on hand but no wheat extract. Any reason the wheat extract would be better?

    Massive blowoff, with video!

So I brewed a Bells Two Hearted yesterday and used S-04. WOW! We always say get a camera first, well I did one better :D I think the first blowoff tube got clogged and thankfully this was in the better bottle not glass because when it finally blew the stopper it made one hell of a mess. 1.070...

    English IPA opinion

I found a similar recipe in another thread but wanted to get opinions on the hop additions. Here's what I've got so far, didn't modify the grainbill but I only have Willamette and Fuggle on hand. Think a mixed addition at 15 and 0 is better or all Willamette at one and Fuggle the other...

Here's my original fermenter thread. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/my-new-fermenter-131260/ And here's how I'm getting through the winter. Last week it was in the high 30s and it held steady at 66º. Its a ceramic reptile heater, that and the box I was out about $35-40 and an afternoon's work.

    Lacto infection

Not worried about it, already kegged and carbed. Tastes fine but I'm just curious. This was floating on top and as soon as I saw it I racked from underneath it to a keg and chilled it promptly.

Anyone looked at the recipes yet? I'm digging the Mike Riddle recipe and it looks awesome. 8.5% 100 SRM 100 IBU 6L starter 20+ lbs for a 5 gallon batch. I'm looking forward to brewing this but I've got some work to do. Should be really fun to brew.

Dry hop sub for all centennial IPA

I've got an all centennial IPA and I'm out of centennial and cascade but I've got almost everything else. I saw these as subs Amarillo, Columbus, Summit but didn't know what would work best since my entire hop schedule was centennial.
