Any ETA update on the false bottoms?

Can't sell them, then I wouldn't have the only one!

I regularly do 20-23 lb 10g biab. I normally have a friend to help lift it out, otherwise I drain off a good bit of the wort into a bucket so I don't have to lift/hold the bag as high. As someone else said the biggest problem is fitting the bag through the keg opening and mine is cut 12" or so.

Atlanta has a metal outlet store: http://www.metalsupermarketsatl.com/ They have scraps or they can cut you more or less anything to size. Not sure if there's something like that where you are.

Gelatin has needed a few days in my experience too. Pushing it to another keg would at least get the beer off any sludge at the bottom of the current keg.

I don't use it often, usually when I want to serve it young to others who respond better to clear beer. I don't secondary so I use it in the keg. First pint or 2 is a little sludgy but after that its fine.

It's not instantaneous for one thing. Also I tend to use a tablespoon in 1-2 cups of boiled but still hot water. Let it bloom for a few minutes then stir it up and dump it in. I swirl the keg after dumping it in and wait a few days. Give it 3-4 days and you should see a difference. EDIT: Just...

So you just pop the lid on a jar, pour it into a sanitized container w/ a fresh yeast vial and let it go?

I used a piece of soft copper and plugged the end with a short piece of 00 ground wire. Ground it smooth and haven't had any problems sense.

I haven't grown any in a couple years but cascade and centennial are my gotos and they're both tough as nails for growing. Plan on a couple years to really see any production but it's pretty cool to see how fast they grow.

Not sure if Brewmasters Warehouse is still taking orders but they were selling them. They're in Marietta.

I just switched to them at the first of the year but I don't have any complaints. They're a little tough to lock down initially but they're pretty easy to use.
