Might need a little help on this one... got it fermenting on the 4th. SG 1.094, by friday (7th)it was down to 1.054, temps got warm here, and it was up to 85-86 degrees. Got it cooled down to 75-78 degrees, but there has been no action since, checked the gravity today still sitting at 1.054...

Checked Gravity today 1.016...sampled...yummy, hope to bottle tomorrow and sample it again. I wish i was kegging it would be ready in a few days...

anyone know if I could substitute a package of Mutons active brewing yeast (6 oz) for the package of Red Star Champagne yeast? Just got a kit today and upgraded the yeast and this is a spare package and wondered if I can use it. If not, where would I find the Red Star? It's not at my local...

Any other thoughts on this? A local milwaukee brewer Sprecher has a XXX beer that isn't realeased other that at the gift shop that started life as root beer, but something added to it to make it a beer that is flavored as root beer. It's really good wondering if anyone has any ideas or recipes...
