Putting a keg into a chest freezer

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, i'm not gonna do it. Will just let it carb in the basement, and see how it is in 24 hours.

Putting a keg into a chest freezer

Thanks for the reply. From the vids i've seen about making your own carb'd (seltzer) water, they used 30psi for carbonating. I'm hoping for just a typical kind of seltzer. I by the plain Kroger brand in cans. I add a squirt or 2 of Stur for flavoring b/c I don't drink any sugar sodas. It's...

Putting a keg into a chest freezer

A little off topic, but hoping for some helpful input... I just filled my keg with 4.5 gal of tap water (softened) and put on 30 psi of c02. I want to put the keg in my chest freezer and can't keep the co2 connected, Anyone have any idea how long I can keep it in the freezer w/o worrying...

    Question about corny keg carbonating

Thx for the reply. Typically, i put it on 12 psi and keep in fridge for 3 days. Then dial it back just a little for server. Right now, I don't have room in my fridge. So keeping it basement until I'm ready to put it in the fridge.

    Question about corny keg carbonating

I just kegged a Brewer's Best kit - American Amber Ale. It is in my basement which is at 66 deg F. The CO2 chart I have only goes up to 65 deg, but for that, it shows that 24 psi should put it at a volume of 2.23. If i do this: how long should it take to be carb'd? After that many days...

    Cleaning a Copper Wort Chiller

Normally, I do the usual, put in to sanitize at 20 mins, then I let it sit in the hot water from the chilling process. When i was done, and poured out the water, I had an issue where i couldn't give it a final rinse and it sat for a day or so. There is no corrosion, and I understand (and...

    Bottling Dilema...

Thanks for everyone's replies. I just opened another 22 oz on Wed nite. It didn't have much of a sound when uncapped, but it still had good carb. I think at this point, I'll leave it all alone and just take whatever i get.

    Bottling Dilema...

Thank you for the reply. Ahhh. that is a good point. But, what about the fact that I don't know how much they are carbonated to begin with? Due to the priming solution not getting mixed up well enough, i'm afraid that some will be: adequate; over carb'd or under-carb'd. I could try to go...

    Bottling Dilema...

Hi. Sorry this is so long winded, but I wanted to be thorough with my explanation. I've been brewing for years and have not had this issue before. Bottling day. Prepare priming sugar solution, let it cool a bit, then pour into bottling bucket (sanitized of course - not going to mention...

    Anvil Forge question

It took well over an hour to get to a boil, and it was barely a boil at all. Was not a pleasant brew day. I'm going to the burner apart, knock it around a bit, upside down, then try using the air compressor to blow some air thru it. If that doesn't help, then to the dump it goes, and I'm...

    Anvil Forge question

Hi. Did I see in another post that Blichmann is the mfg of the Anvil Forge? I've had my Anvil burner for what will be 4 years this coming Feb. About a year ago, I had to replace the original regulator hose. The original did not have the red knob at the end by the tank side, but I found that...

    Electric, Extract, Full Volume Batches?

I was thinking.... instead of replacing my propane burner (Anvil Forge) as a heat source, is there an electric device that I can use instead? If 240v, then i can use the outlet for my dryer in the basement. I've done a few all grain brews, but really, I'm not looking for awards here, just...

Anvil burner weak after winter hibernation

Hi. I wanted to stay in this topic, rather than post a new thread. (BTW, did I see in another post that Blichmann is the mfg of the Anvil burner?) I've had my Anvil burner for what will be 4 years this coming Feb. About a year ago, I had to replace the original regulator hose. The...
