English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

I have no idea if the Hook Norton strain is available commercially (BrewLabs might have it), but the people at the Hook Norton brewery are very friendly and happy to give you a bagfull of their slurry, if you ask nicely. Unfortunately, I had two more weeks of holiday left and no plan how to keep...

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

The Brewery changed the recipe to all Fuggles (grown on their own farm) a number of years ago. The yeast they use is said to be the Hook Norton strain.

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

I love Hog‘s Back TEA, especially served from Cask. In fact, that very beer (and the inability to purchase it here in Germany) was what led me to homebrewing. Back in October, while visiting Surrey, I was finally able to enjoy the real thing again.

Sorry, Miraculix, I overlooked your post.

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

Please excuse my ignorance, but is there any real difference between brewer‘s caramel and the stuff sold as „Zuckerkulör“ (literally „sugar colour“) in German supermarkets, for example this...

Using AI to design beer labels

Potter's style lends itself very well for idyllic, oldschool illustrations. I had a lot of fun playing around with it. The style of old D&D fantasy illustrations is also fun. Behold "Orchard Overdose Cider" Cheers! Fr. Marc

Using AI to design beer labels

Glad you like it. Strictly speaking it's not my illustration but a bunch of pixels randomly thrown together by a machine. So, no copyright issues here. ;)

Using AI to design beer labels

AI generated art may not (yet) be perfect, but I know it is way better than art created by myself.... Different beers, different styles... same fun! A lable for Blackbird Stout (AI is not able to insert real text, so editing is needed to add real words.) A design for my "Hoppy Frog Pale...

What is your home brewery's name?

My home brewery is named after Saint Winfrid Boniface, who is one of the patron saints of brewers. Winfrid came as a missionary from England to Germany. I mostly brew English style ales, which are by far and large not very popular here in Germany, so a lot of missionary work has to be done...

    Kreuzberg beer

Ruint, may I ask how the brew turned out? I am planning to give the Kreuzberg tribute a try soon. Cheers! Marc

Hogs Back T.E.A. or Summer Ale Clone?!?!?!

Jon, if you are near Hook Norton, they should be happy to pass on a bag of yeast to you, if you ask them some days before your visit. And yes: it IS a cool looking brewery!

Hogs Back T.E.A. or Summer Ale Clone?!?!?!

Hey Jon, I have not brewed my own batch of TEA yet, but did a lot of research. By chance, I came across a fellow homebrewer who had brewed up several batches of TEA clone recipes in the past in order to find out which one turns out close to the original. Here is the recipe he passed on to me...

Hogs Back T.E.A. or Summer Ale Clone?!?!?!

Hello there! I wanted to revive this thread and ask if the T.E.A. clone was ever brewed and how it turned out. It is one of my all-time favorite ales and since travelling to England is not really an option at the moment, I consider brewing a clone myself. Any hints or advice? Thank you and...
