    Maltodextrin in Hazy IPA

Yeah it’s probably overkill, just have some Maltodextrin in the cupboard that I haven’t used yet. Maybe it’s better suited in a stout or something. I currently ferment in a 7gal uni that’s always destined for a single keg so don’t really have the means to split batches at the moment...

    Maltodextrin in Hazy IPA

Hi All, Looking to brew a mid-strength New England Style IPA, and thinking of ways to improve body/mouthfeel. My recipe already includes a lot of oats but I’ve also noticed one of my local breweries uses Maltodextrin for body from time to time so was wondering if it was worth a shot… Batch...

Push Fit Ball Valves & CO2

Not at all really, in fact I think I already have some of the duotight valves lying around from a previous project (and plan on going 5/16 to the keg anyways), just wasn’t sure how reliable they are for gas. Cheers!

Push Fit Ball Valves & CO2

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has had any issues using john guest type ball valves on CO2 lines? I'm about to change my CO2 to keg set up and was thinking of using these rather than a manifold, but it looks like some of these models aren't necessarily rated for use with gas. e.g. Speedfit...

    Hoppy Lagers

Cheers @AzOr ! Didn’t actually post my recipe in my previous thread as wanted to keep the focus solely on the hops, but now I’ve pulled the trigger... 5.25kg Bohemian Pilsner 430g Carapils 22g Perle 60 mins 15g Perle 20 mins 15g Perle 10 mins 30g Mandarina Bavaria whirlpool @ 80c for 20 mins...

Hoppy Pils - But Which Hops?

Nice! Will definitely keep an eye out for that one; hopefully Brexit won’t spell the end of German beer in the UK! 🤣 I’ll be fermenting in a unitank and have a “hop dropper” set up, so can definitely limit the O2 👍🏻 Looks like it’s going to be Mandarina in this brew!

Hoppy Pils - But Which Hops?

Looks good! So that’s double the quantities on the flameout and dry hop, interesting... Perhaps I’m playing it too safe then!

Hoppy Pils - But Which Hops?

Sounds great! I do have plenty of new world hops too, but think I‘ll limit it with European hops for this first attempt. Currently thinking 30g/1oz for both the whirlpool and the dry hop; hopefully that doesn’t overdo it (it’s tame by my usual standards, at least!).

Hoppy Pils - But Which Hops?

I suppose unintentionally a NZ Pilsner! 😅 I’m not a huge lager drinker but want try making something refreshing with just a bit of a fruity/floral hit. Interesting on the Hallertau Blanc, if I’m honest my initial thought was to go with the Perle and Mandarina so I guess you’re reinforcing my...

Hoppy Pils - But Which Hops?

Hi All, I’m looking to brew a hoppy pilsner soon, aiming for around 35 IBU and utilising a subtle whirlpool and dry hop. 5 gallon batch, looking to use up some hops I have on hand, just not sure which ones... I have: 100g/3.5oz German Perle (fresh pack) 75g/2.6oz Mandarina Barvaria 75g/2.6oz...
