Morning all- well it is here! I have just been given a grain bag of Irish stout yeast and hops. I have not done a stout before- just ales and lagers. Can anyone recommend a good, fail safe brewing schedule for me. Thanks guys

    Real Ginger Ale

This sounds great. Wish I could try it, but in my town, there is a real shortage of Ginger root. I think everyone is trying to make ginger beer because we have total shut down on alcohol!

Quick question on carbonation of ginger beer

I have just brewed a ginger beer using grain- I carbonated each bottle with 5g table sugar. I opted to do each bottle separately so I could see which gave me the best carbonation. I have found generally that turning the bottle over about 10 times (gently) every day for about 3 days gives me the...

    Real Ginger Ale

Thank you for your replies. I might well start a thread- I have been brewing for about 8 months now. And I can say I am enjoying my beer much more than I did at the beginning, when I tended to throw most of it down the sink! And I am probably the only woman brewer over 60 in this forum!

But actually I found the bottle I had just now did not taste as bad as the previous one- so because I am such an amateur, each bottle appears to be different. So I will persevere and take it bottle by...

Hi. Welcome! I am also new. I have learnt a lot here and enjoy finding my way. I have found I actually drink much less beer since brewing my own! I am on a quest to get the perfect beer and now having learnt about lovibonds etc, etc. I find I am getting super fussy. I find I am actually throwing...

    Adding Old brew to new

Morning all! I am quite new to brewing- anyone ever tried mixing brews? My latest brew is too malty and sweet for my taste. I want to unbottle it and add it to a newer brew which is still under fermentation. Can I do that- must I add more yeast? It is already carbonated, but has anyone tried...
