    Watermelon wine stuck spoiled

    Aging wine in a barrel?

    So I've used white oak barrels to age whisky and rum I distilled but never wine. I've used oak spirals but is aging wine in a barrel any different? Taste it periodically until I feel its been oaked enough? Also what kind of wines shouldn't be oaked ever? I've only ever used spirals on red wines.

    I have experience barrel aging whiskey but not wine and I'd like to attempt it. Do we have a reputable barrel source? Any technique? I'm assuming soaking the barrel in metabisulfite is beneficial?
