In SW Alberta, there are midges year-round, but I had spent about 2h tying this particular Moonshine. The same moment I finished the fly, the snow started, so onto the mighty Bow River I went. It seemed fitting, with the silence of the snow with rapids all around. Cheers! :mug:

    What are you drinking now?

I tied this fly...but Allright, got it going. This is a fly called 'Moonshine'. I drank my beer, shot my line further than I could ever have done before....I was not scared of the water, I was not scared of the people. Then I fell in. All for this Moonshine fly. Amen.

Finishing off an 88 Brewing Hazy IPA, along with some surf 'n turf. Mmm. Really looking forward to my upcoming Witbier, as it's my first time going with RO water. Also trying out the mighty Novalager. SKÅL! :mischievous:

    What are you drinking now?

Having an old favourite from local Zero Issue Brewing. Nice and sour.... ...during one of the smoothest brew days ever. Small amount of chit after mashing in, but it went really well. Only one crack and it's nice and clear, for a wheat beer! :rock:Cheers! :mug:

    What are you drinking now?

Bright 'n Early strong Belgian Golden by local Cabin Brewing. Haven't seen this one before, and it's another one going on the list! Great flavour, not as harsh/spicy as say a Fin du Monde and goes down a little too easy! Hic! 🥴:D

    What are you drinking now?

Trip Hammer robust porter from Blindman Brewing. Wow. Very big chocolate and burnt coffee notes. Even though I'm making up a recipe for a clearer springtime beer, this makes me want to brew a porter! This will stay on my list. Cheers! :mug:

    What are you drinking now?

Getting back to normal today, so making up for lost time. No indication of Covid, and lungs are way better. There is a regular 'week-long' spring cold going around, and I can smell fairly well. 'Sea Witch' passionfruit sour from local New Level Brewing. This is really great! Clean, fresh...

There are so many Irish folks up here in Canada, I'm not one of them. no worries hanging out, but holy firecrackers, it's so close to a holiday, it's almost a sin not to wear Green. How do Japanese people know?

    What are you drinking now?

Well, looks like Unibroue has caved to the can. It still tastes similar to the bottled versions, but it is different...namely, no lees! Fin du Monde Trippel, and it's helping me warm up after 5h standing in the mighty Bow River. It was 17ºC / 63ºF outside today in blazing sun, but the water was...

    What are you drinking now?

Okay, enough of this sour stout nonsense! Driftwood Brewery in Victoria, BC put out a great IPA called 'Fat Tug'. Such a nice change, almost tastes like an Earl Grey tea. Easy drinking' and a nice kick at 7%. Besides, it's nice to have a fat tug every once in a while!😂

    What are you drinking now?

Another project from local Annex Ale, along with Indie Alehouse and Merit Brewing. 'Grime & Punishment' Wild Imperial Stout. I wish I had taken more notice of the 'wild' part of this 10% brew...sigh. The stout part is very tasty, but the spine-tingle from the Brett just doesn't seem right...

    What are you drinking now?

Pre-fishing beer, after a crazy morning trying to deal with Federal Gov't offices. Sigh. 'Tokyo Drift' from local Last Best Brewing. No fish. I meant to take more photos but the water was getting city runoff because..well...Spring is next week, so I walked slowly home, wondering why most of my...
