    My LHBS didn't have caraaroma, special b was the recommend replacement. also, used denny's favorite instead of wlp001. Was worried when in the fermenter it looked more like a brown ale, but turned out beautiful and looks identical to the other posts here. Tastes amazing!

    Bottled an extract version of this on Wednesday (scaled recipe, replaced base malts with dme). hops smelled delicious!!! once they carb up its going to be amazing!!!

    For my 2nd batch a couple months ago made a Hefe that smelled like straight booze and cloves when I bottled it. Turned out wonderful. spent a lot of time worrying about it before i finally opened one though! Also, I recommend not buying kits if you have access to a Homebrew store near you...

    Update: used ~1oz sugar dissolved in water to prime my 1 gal batch. (kitchen scale from target) beer turned out great! batch priming for first time was a little scary. "am I going to end up with flat beer???" was question i asked my self for 2 straight weeks.

    Don't remember exactly what i searched, but the "Beginners Beer Brewing Forum" was one of the first results. Search might have been about the long lag time for my first batch. At least i wasn't one of those new brewers worried about infections!...until my 2nd batch that is :oops: God bless HBT...
