    Beer Alchemy App Problem

Oh yeah. Won’t open on my phone anymore. Glad I made the transition to Brewfather shortly after posting about how to re-install it.

    Beer Alchemy App Problem

Sweet. I just logged in to tell @MatthewMcKinnon1313 I was about to send it over but this is a much better idea.

    Beer Alchemy App Problem

I don't quite remember how as I was kind of just tinkering around with it at the time to get it to work. Someone in this thread posted a link that may help. Or maybe one of these guys who has done it recently could help with that.

    Beer Alchemy App Problem

Sure. I can’t get to the computer right now but I’ll send it as soon as I get a chance. I have to say though. Since this all happened, I’ve started to use Brewfather and love it. I haven’t used beer alchemy since.

    Five Star Defoamer vs FermCapS

I have some five star defoamer and have not had luck with it. I still have to babysit my 10 gallon kettle with 6-7 gallons of wort. However, I haven't really tried adding more than advised on the label so perhaps that would work. Also I was never really clear on when to add it. Do you add when...

Sorry, was not notified of this reply. Assuming by your second post that you got it working?

    Beer Alchemy App Problem

I just ran into this problem myself and I know this is an older post but I found a solution! It includes having an app on your computer called iMazing. I was able to pull the apps .ipa file off my old device and install in on the new. You all probably no longer have your old devices with the app...

    Don't Do That.

Don't go to grab your star-san to make a fresh batch to clean a few little things AFTER your brew day, only to realize this is the first time you grabbed the star-san today and you've actually done nothing but rinse all your equipment off in a bucket of straight tap water all day. Maybe it'll...

    RO Water Ph

Ok, don't laugh at me but I also have some test strips for my hot tub that test more. I used two different strips and it looks like, based on them that my total alkalinity is around 30-40ppm and my pH is around 6.4-6.8. Your wealth of knowledge is still over my head at this point but I...

    RO Water Ph

One thing I have never checked is the Ph of my brewing water or my mash. For my next batch I decided I would see what I was dealing with. I've been getting my brew water from a local "RO" water dispenser and decided to buy some cheap Ph strips from the LHBS. I tested the RO water and the Ph...

    New Anvil Bucket Fermentors

I meant if my alternative was cutting an airlock as to not acquire new parts I’d just bend something for free. I blow off every time just as you described. It’s very low profile.

    New Anvil Bucket Fermentors

I would have just bent or cut out one of the bars from the rack.

    Broken refractometer?

Have you tried in in different lighting? Mine is sometimes fuzzy if the light source isn't great or there are multiple sources shining overhead. Doesn't get quite as bad as it sounds like you are getting but if it's not that or something else mentioned here already, I'm not sure what else it...

What I did for beer today

Picked up a whirlpool kit for my kettle as well as a step drill bit. Then worked up the courage to drill the hole for it. Everything went great and now I know I don't need to fear putting holes in my equipment anymore.

    What are you drinking now?

Beat me to it by a minute!

What came in the mail for you today?

Cam locks and hoses and the brewhardware cold crash guardian that I thought id give a try

    CO2 lines

If I were worried and had no other options, I'd just disconnect the lines and give them a soak in my favorite cleaner.

    Rough brew day today

I may have misread but it sounds like you were just short on volume. You could have sparged more or topped up with a little water which would have lowered your gravity and increased your volume. Extending the boil will lower your volume and increase your gravity.
