Fermentation chamber went haywire...temps went over 100 degrees?

So I left to go on vacation over this past weekend and came home only to find my chest freezer / fermentation chamber at 115 degrees inside. Yikes! Apparently before I had left, I had unplugged it to get to the attic and when I re-hooked up the inkbird, I must have switched the heating and...

Chest freezer went haywire, dropped temp into 40s?

So something went wrong with the temp controller on my chest freezer and after I pitched the yeast this morning (at low 70s), I came home tonight and the temp had dropped to the mid-40s (along with the beer). I took it out and am letting it warm up in the garage. Should I be concerned? Yeast...

How could I be so stupid?

So I currently have four different batches going on in my freezer (which I converted to a fermentation chamber). Tonight I went to keg one that was finished and as I was locking the lid on the keg down to hook the co2 up...I noticed tiny bubbles coming up from the bottom of the yeast cake in...

    Help with co2 leak?

So I bought two used pinlock kegs from a local brewer. Claimed they were pressure tested. I took them apart to clean (including the posts and poppets). Anyway, I reassembled, kegged, and went to hook up and noticed there is a leak coming from the bottom of the gas “in” post. I thought it might...

How is this even possible (RESOLVED)?!

So I purchased a dry Irish stout extract kit from NB. Brew day was about 3 weeks ago, looked very light going into the fermenter but thought I’d let it ride. Went to take a sample today and this does not look at all like a stout! Smells, looks, and tastes pretty much like a miller high life! Far...

    Need help troubleshooting first keg!

Just setup my new kegerator and kegged my first beer last weekend. I have a 10ft line, 3/16th vinyl, single tap tower. I forced carbed overnight for 24-36 hours at 35 psi. However when I went to pull the tap the next evening, nothing came out. I purged the keg (heard a bunch co2 rush out)...

Need help! How can I loosen co2 regulator fitting?

I’m trying to add a wye splitter to my primary regulator? Any tips on how to remove the fitting/shut off value. It looks like it may be sealed with Loctite? Anyone ever have success removing these? Help!

    Did I mess it up?

So I brewed my second batch ever yesterday (a dry Irish stout extract from NB) - and as I looked over my notes today, I realized that I added the liquid malt syrup before I reached boiling. I did it immediately after steeping the grains! The directions called to steep the grains for 20 mins...

Dry Stout Extract kit - tips on how to modify?

Hello all - I received a dry stout extract kit from NB as a gift. With St. Patty’s day right around the corner, thinking now might be the right time to finally brew it. Looking to maybe modify it a bit. Any suggestions (chocolate, oatmeal, raspberries, more DME, etc,). Still fairy new to...
