does this electric mill look good

Maybe it was different a few days ago but it says $60 shipping for me. It does seem like a great deal at $117 but maybe not as much at $177.

Shipping cost - 50lb sacks - Best place to buy?

When I got the email, I click on the link and saw some nice deals on base malts. An hour or two later they were all out of stock for the full sacks. Hopefully some of you were able to get some! I still have about 90 lbs of Briess base malt from when they originally had free shipping over a year...

    Cost of yeast increased lately?

What yeast do use use? I just ordered some dry yeast from Ritebrew on Tuesday. Safale US05 was $2.79. It was the same price when I ordered in May 2022. It was $2.89 in January 2019 so it's actually gone down. I buy at least 10 packets at a time and get a 40 cent discount, which offsets...

DigiBoil for $140 at Williams Brewing

Interesting, I've had one about 4 years and don't have that problem. Mine has a pretty vigorous boil, so I usually turn off the 500 watt element during the boil. 1000 Watts usually has a slow rolling boil for me.

    Sold Jaded Scylla

If you don't find someone local, I'd be interested in a quote to get it shipped to zip code 28078.

    Carolina Malt House

Interesting, you can just buy it directly from their malt house? It's over $70/sack at my local store and I'm not too far from the malt house so I'll look into buying a couple sacks.

Resealable Hop Packaging -- Too Much To Ask?

I'm not sure what you paid, but you can buy Cascade cheap directly from YCH. It's 99 cents for 2 ounces, free shipping. With the smaller packaging you don't have to worry so much about resealing.

    Picnic Tap 2.1

I bought the 2.0 version back in October. I like the design, and the reviews are obviously great. I haven't used it much, but I have found that the beer tends to taste flat when I do use it. I leave it in the fridge overnight to get cool, I pour it into a cold glass, but the beer just doesn't...

Sold JaDeD Brewing Scylla Immersion Chiller (for Grainfather/Anvil/etc.)

How much would it cost, shipped, to zip code 28078? Also, I'm unfamiliar with types of fittings. Does this not hook up directly to a garden hose? I guess it would need an adapter?

Pressure-Fermented Lager: Necessary to Pitch Cold?

Fyi, you don't need to replace the All Rounder every two years. You just have to test it every two years. Chances are it'll last much longer than that.

    Cleaning Duotight Disconnects

Turn it the other way 🤣 I have two red ones, and it's not very difficult to twist them off.

Purging keg with CO2 from fermentation: liquid or gas post?

Most of my kegs seal fine, but I have a 2 gallon keg that refused to seal. I switched orings, tried silicone, and it didn't work. Bought an oversized oring from Williams and it seals perfectly. They're more expensive than regular orings, but it was well worth it for me.

Which is a better deal? Corona mill or Cereal Killer?

Use HOLIDAZE15 for 15% off at AIH. At $85, it's fantastic. Some people are perfectly fine with the Corona Mill but when I was buying a mill 4 years ago, I went with the Cereal Killer. I don't regret it

10% off at hopsdirect.com plus free gift

I don't have the best sense of smell, so I'm not the best judge of aroma. I do like the taste of the Centennial 20, as I've made a few recent batches with it. It's been a few months since I've used Amarillo so my memory is a little fuzzy on that, but I don't recall any issues.

    Seltzer; looking for info

I bought a seltzer kit from Williams Brewing last week, and I'll be making it soon. I have three questions for those that have been making seltzer: 1 - Do I have to worry about oxidation since there are no hops? The instructions say to stir it vigorously every couple days, which is something...

I like your taste in hops! I'm making a blonde ale right now with Amarillo 19 and Centennial 20 from Hops Direct.

What is the best deal on malt in 2022?

Delta Brewing offered free shipping on sacks when I purchased a few weeks ago. And a 15% coupon if you sign up for their emails. It was the best deal I've seen in a while.

    Lallemand Verdant IPA Ale

Funny you say that. I brewed a beer last Friday. I'm fermenting with Verdant at 65 degrees. When I looked at it this morning (8 days into fermentation) I thought "when is this krausen going to drop?". I hadn't noticed it until today. I'm in no rush with this one since my kegerator is full...

    Raising Fermentation Temperature

Part of the answer depends on what you consider 'room temperature'. Plenty of people keep their house in the low 70's in the summer. I keep mine at 76-77 in the summer, and in the low 80's when I'm out of town. As long as it's in the 70's, I don't see how it would have any noticeable impact...

Northern Brewer Support (or lack of)

What kind of Vienna? The selection isn't as big, but the prices are better at Delta. They have sacks of Swaen (55lb) and Briess (50lb) vienna for about $67 with free shipping. I ordered 4 sacks a few days ago and they shipped the next day...
