New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Its getting great ratings on untappd. I live close to Eq, and just found out about Fidens over the summer, but have only had a few beers from them so far. Do you know if they plan on canning (16oz)soon ? I pass by Albany weekly in the spring/summer, would be cool to pick up 4 packs

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Other half is tough to beat when you take into account the quality, variety, quantity of beer they put out. I'm pretty pumped about equilibrium's new location though, since I live about 20 min away . Hopefully they up their stout production. Life After Death Star was absolutely amazing and...

Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

Just finished brewing, and came in way under gravity(1.053) . It was the first time brewing on a new system(Anvil foundry) , and I think a combination of things went wrong. Crush was too fine and I was having trouble keeping the recirculation pump going, and I think I started with a little too...

Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

Sounds good! Noticeable improvement over just using spring water? I'm going to brew this tomorrow with that water profile

Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

Anyone have a water profile for this? The recipe is certainly good even just using spring water, but would be awesome with the right water

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

My beers have been taking about 2.5-3 weeks to really hit their best flavor

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Awesome. I used 1/2lb lactose in the last 2beers I made, and that amount seems perfect. I picked up some malted oats yesterday and I'm going to bump up the oats next batch.

Looks good. Keep us updated on how its compares once your beer hits its peak . Dreamwave fluctuation is probably the best NEIPA I've ever had

    Bray's One Month Mead

Hmm, so I’m still confused . Secondary or not for this recipe?

    Bray's One Month Mead

So you’re doing a secondary for this recipe? I figured this was getting bottled right from the fermenter since I didn’t see anything about a transfer to secondary. At what point are you transferring to secondary? Once Fg is reached?

    Bray's One Month Mead

Hey everyone, I’m going to a shot at making mead in a few days. I’ve never actually even tasted mead, but I figure why not go for it. I think I’m going to do a 2 gallon batch. I have 2 options for fermenters- 6.5 gallon ale pail and 1 gallon carboys. Is the headspace in the ale pail a problem...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Just tapped the beer I made last week. It probably needs another week or so to mellow out, but should be tasty. The floating dip tube works awesome, very glad I switched

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Sounds good, I’m definitely going to stop in there at some point once the camp gets opened up. I see there’s a brewery opening up right by the lake too. I’m going to brew a blonde ale next week, I’ll mess around with filling bottles once I get that kegged

Are you bottling from your kegerator? If so what’s your method? I just noticed the wolf hollow glass you posted, saw the town name, and looked it up. It looks like they’re very close to the route I take to go to Sacandaga. I’ll have to stop by there next time I head up.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I picked up some Dream Wave Fluctuation this weekend(equilibrium/Other Half), and it’s the best Neipa I’ve ever had. I know they use lactose in it, and OH likes to go heavy on the oats . So I’d like to experiment a bit with adding lactose and bumping up the oats

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

For those who have or are adding lactose, how much are you adding for a 5 gallon batch, and when are you adding it? I see Dgallo is adding at day 4. By then my beer is already in the keg spunding

Any Hudson Valley, NY (845 more specifically) homebrewers out there?

Thanks, I will check out Hudson valley . Based on what I’ve seen and heard from Jerry, I think their club has issues with leadership and turnout. I’m in the email list and I believe the last meeting was cancelled due to low turnout

Any Hudson Valley, NY (845 more specifically) homebrewers out there?

I’m in New Windsor. A while ago I went to a club meeting, Mohonk brewers or whatever, and was disappointed. A few strange people and no one seemed to be really serious about brewing good beers. Not sure if there are any clubs around who are a bit more serious .
