    i use stainless kegs for fermenting so the more obvious/easier methods don't work so well when you can't see inside,i'mm now going to go and search for cheap accurate scales! preferably the luggage type so i can hang the keg from them.

    ok, i just re-read yoopers post,i actually ended up with around 3/4 gallon more finished volume than intended after i added the necessary water to correct the gravity. so is there a simple calculation i can use if/when i have the same situation arise?

    cheers, i'll keep my eye on the auction for the hemocytometer and i'll do a bit mor research into the scope. maybe if i rig a bright light straight in front of the illuminator? or replace it with a halogen or similar? mmm i wonder. most of the decent scopes are out of my budget over here...

    anyone know how to? i have some recipes in bsm format and i use beeralchemy,as far as i can tell beeralchemy can't open them? my mac is one of the old steam powered powerpc models:D, so i can't use beersmith 2 either! any ideas appreciated. cheers
