    Possible solution to my welding problem

    no. you can not run any thing straight through the coupler, once you get half way through the threads change direction. correct me if i'm wrong.

    Plastic vs. Glass

    if you do use glass, make sure you have a test bottle or 2 of plastic so you can get an idea of how long to let them forment. i use glass but i make sure i use at least one plastic bottle. hope this helps.
