PSA: Try Powering Your Uncooperative DS18B20s Via 5V

First thing try each one alone in the RPi, throw away the ones not working. Then remember one wire bus do not like star configuration. Is better tho have 3 wires going around and atache the sensor to that line with short wire. Take a look in hear ...

PSA: Try Powering Your Uncooperative DS18B20s Via 5V

When many devices are in the bus the length of wire also plays. Some times adding or cutting 20cm on a sensor make all work. As per spect sheet the pull down current could be up to 7mA. On 3.3V the limit is 470 ohms. I have many buses with 8 or 10 sensors to the RPi with 820 ohms pull up working...

Sweet Potato Wine- Anyone Done It?

Caramelized sugar will not ferment, so you need to get the sugar before that.

Is a Spunding Valve a "diode"?

An image is allway better, no pressure back flow will open the ball.

    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

Well there are different things here. I don't know what will you actuate with the UL2003, but they are NPN darlington, so no power supply . Max81365 have hi gain amp, so the main point is to have good filtering. The relays board have separate power for login and for coils, so power the coils...

    Using Actual Caramel in Beer?

Yes. And you put a marvel inside to help stir the milk. Bizarra beer makes a waissen with dulce de leche.

Here in Uruguay ther are several beer with “Dulce de Leche” , that I understand is the same as caramel ( the filling of Mars bars”. It goes good in dark sweet beers.

More than looking to the pcb silkscreen, check the conections with a tester. Pin 1 goes to GND.

    Equipamentos para controle de fermentação

Vc vai ter mais respostas si consultare en english. ;-) Ja olho o BrewPiLess, e opensource e tein tudo o que Vc falo. Si tivese muitos tanques CraftbeerPi o Fermentrack son bon.

BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

Yes, you can. But then take a look at CraftBierPi. Do not reinvent the weel

Bierbot Brick - Alternate method of building a brick

ESP pins can’t drive the relay directly, need aprox 70mA. The board relay breakout has a transistor doing the driver.

If the flow is not even the the flowmeter may lie. Yo can not calibrate for diferen flows.

    Yet another DYI Plato scale

1.265g - the co2 inside the fermenter. You know the exact weight cos you know the OD.

    Yet another DYI Plato scale

After some chemistry calculations, for every 40g of alcohol 44g of co2 are produced. Some of it remains in the liquid and in head space. But the co2 that goes out in the bubbles leave the system, the weight goes down.

    Yet another DYI Plato scale

4k7 is “usual” on 5v vcc. On 3v you are better off with 3k3. Lower pullup get better noise inmunity. I go as low as 820 ohms on long lines.

    Yet another DYI Plato scale

Nice to find this thread. I has been experimentig with hx711 and load cells to weight the fermenter. I want to find the delta as co2 exit to calculate the amount of alcohol and then the Plato. As you mention time drift make it almost impossible.

    [OT] HAM Radio Folks?

I need to re up my inverted V for 40m. In the seaside house only have home build 40m QRP. I do cw on and off over the years, but always on vertical key. That paddels look hard to master.

    [OT] HAM Radio Folks?

That’s funny. We here need to spend a year in each category and prove at least 80 contacts for each exam.
