    Concord block burner?

I just brewed for the first time with one of these - only issue is that you'll need a wind blocker. Also, it gets pretty hot below the burner - there's not a lot of clearance between the burner and whatever it's sitting on, so make sure there's something heat proof below it. Mine was sitting...

Keg Cop: Keg Monitoring and Control

Sounds good - thanks for the quick response!

Keg Cop: Keg Monitoring and Control

Ok - may have spoken slightly too soon - the other thing I'm experiencing is the taps resetting themselves. After I've got them set up in the settings menu, they display fine, they change when I dispense, etc. But a little while later when I look at the homepage, they've gone blank and in the...

Keg Cop: Keg Monitoring and Control

Morning, all, and Happy New Year to everyone! Finally got some free time, and with a larger amount of effort than I was expecting (solely due to my own inexperience), I've got KegCop up and running in my keezer. I'm using 3 flowmeters and 3/4 of the temp sensors (Upper, Lower, and Tower). No...

Keg Cop: Keg Monitoring and Control

Right - Swissflow confirmed that they're Molex connectors, and from everything I've found, @Thorrak is correct that the wire-to-board connectors are obsolete (at least from Molex) and basically unavailable anyplace I've checked. The challenge I'm having now is that I'm trying to extend the...

Keg Cop: Keg Monitoring and Control

So for what it's worth, the kit I ordered to get JST-XH female connectors for this was not correct. The connectors I got are too large. Could be the connectors aren't correct, but they seemed reputable. I'm going to email Swissflow and ask them specifically.

Keg Cop: Keg Monitoring and Control

Thanks - this is a huge help! OK - that's what I was thinking - it probably would have made complete sense once I saw everything on the table. Thanks!

Keg Cop: Keg Monitoring and Control

Hi, all - been lurking for a while and collecting the materials to get KegCop up and running. At this point just waiting for the delivery from Mouser to get here. I built a BrewPi remix setup for myself over the pandemic, and short of the LCD screen never quite working right, it's been a...

    Homebrew Talk 3D Print Thread.

Been playing with my son's new 3D printer - made some Elements of Brewing tap handles for the new keezer. Technically missing "water" but since I've only got 3 taps, had to leave one out. These were printed on a Voxelab Proxima 6.0 resin printer, painted with cheap acrylics, and sealed with...

    I made this!!!

I've been at it for 5 years or so, and while I've always been able to comfortably say my results have been "drinkable" the ones that I was particularly proud of were few and far between. But focusing on process and consistency has increased that rate significantly, to the point where I told my...

    Foamy Second Pour from Keezer?

I have a 3-way secondary regulator already, so the seltzer's on it's own PSI. The two beers are actually somewhere between 10-12 -- to be fair, I lowered the temp from 38 at one point without adjusting the regulator, so that can be adjusted down a bit. Based on the chart, I'm slightly above...

    Foamy Second Pour from Keezer?

So, I built a Keezer with a 3-tap DIY iron pipe tower over the pandemic, and so far I'm absolutely loving it. I've encountered one odd thing, though. I have 2 beers on tap (seltzer on the third) - one's a local craft brew in a sixtel, the other is one of my homebrews in a 2.5 gallon corny...

    Gravity Feeding Through Ice Bath/Block

All my brewing is current in the driveway - I can get a hose around to there, but it's not ideal. The tub is a big plastic tub - probably 20+ gallons capacity - that I fill with cool water and ice blocks to set the BK in when it's chilling. Definitely have the floating problem, but the fit in...

    My Basement Keezer Build

Yup - it's on furniture sliders so comes out pretty easily. I'll look into the hammerite - I found custom bolts for the tower online since the black bolts from Lowes were too painted looking. They've got some kind of special finish on them that actually blends really well with the iron in the...

    My Basement Keezer Build

Hello, Fellow Home Brewers! First off, a hearty thank you to everyone who has posted on their builds in this forum - I spent a really long time lurking and browsing here to get ideas, and once I finally convinced myself to start, it went really smoothly because of all the incredible advice and...

Hinges For a Heavy Keezer Top

Thanks - hadn't come across those. I think they would work, although I wasn't planning on having to inset anything. In the meantime, I settled on the vintage look hinges -- 4 of them that are apparently rated 40 lbs each, which should give be plenty of support.

Hinges For a Heavy Keezer Top

I'm in the process of building by first keezer (with plans to post the build pics at some point soon). I'm still largely in the planning stages, which have been going on for some time, helped along by all the incredible work people on the forum have done over the years. I'm running into one...

    Gravity Feeding Through Ice Bath/Block

Yeah - I'm still thinking through the cleaning part. Particularly if I go with a longer run, that will be dicey. I kind of like the thought of one-step chilling and transferring, even though I know there are existing, well established ways to do that. I'm also trying to avoid sending too much...

    Gravity Feeding Through Ice Bath/Block

I do small (2.5-3 gallon) batches, and I'm looking for a little more convenient way to cool my wort. Currently, I basically use an ice bath - the kettle goes from the burner into a tub filled with water and ice blocks (frozen in tupperware containers prior to brewing). It works fine, but it's...

How do I know when the keg is full?

OK - this may be a really simplistic question - when you're filling the keg, how do you know when it's "full"? I'm getting ready to keg a batch for the first time using a 2.5 gallon corny keg. I know I have a little over 3 gallons in my fermenter, so I'll have a couple of bottles to fill at...
