Hop spider woes solved! In stainless!

Dave69 , I like the use of the hooks rather than just all thread. Would you care to share the source for those? PVC is such nasty stuff there is no way I'd want it heated up over my beer.

    Free The Nitro!

Beergas is 75/25 nitro/co2 or 70/30 depending on where you get it. This makes sense. I suppose if you could add some sort of a restrictor plate to the syringe you could get a better effect.

    Outrageous brew: Capsicum-wine from hell!

I think the distillation will strip a lot of the flavor and heat from your wash.

tygoprene vs silicone tygoprene tubing shows the color and air bubbles better

    Another Silicone tubing alternative

Update: It is clearer and slightly stronger than the silicone but it's a little less resilient to being marked by barbs. I like it on the recirculating mash for the clarity. Pictured here the 2 short darker tubes on the pump box are tygoprene, and the milky tube going from the pump box to the BK...

    Help with Auber 2352

What you said makes sense, I did a second AT and it seemed to work better. I brewed again with it and this time it seemed to hover around 1 degree over the set point so I am happy.

Labeling using laser printers - Control Panels etc

On a machining forum I subscribe to, a post was made about using a laser printer and transferring the print to other objects. I have seen a lot of labeling threads here as well as services for screen printing etc. so I thought this would be good information to share. I have not tried this...

Need help turning a bar into a keezer

Make a platform to get the freezer's lid up to the bar top surface and them mount the surface to the freezer lid rather than the bar. Or at least a section of the bar surface. It kind of sucks to have to lift the whole thing.

    my kegerator up sizing

You can put the pics directly in the thread by using the little picture icon above the text window or by adding IMG tags (the picture button adds them automatically) but you want the link to be directly to the picture, for example I right click on the image and copy the image address. Nice cobra...

Spent Grain? Make Your Best Friend Cookies!

I made 8 batches of these between brewing thursday and today. Kolsch and Black IIPA. House smells great. They make great gifts and I barter for dog food at the local pet shop. They take forever to dry but pretty quick to make.

    Beer line splicing

Consider the thermal mass of all that brass or steel, which is going to sit at ambient room temps. It takes a lot of beer flow to cool it. The insulation will help it retain it's cool but only after at least a pint or 2 flows through it. The advantage of a long shank is not just to go through a...

What propane equipment is needed for a brew tree?

Depends on how fancy you want it to be. I just swap the hose from burner to burner. I never need to run them both unless I'm doing back to back brewing, in which case i'd have an extra tank handy anyway. I have a standard hp turkey fryer type burner for the HLT and (now) a HP big banjo burner...

Can I upgrade typical march pump to HF?

I can attest to the upgrade improving both priming as well as flow for my whirlpool in the BK.
