You'll find that the algorithm adjusts quick enough on a first brew to not have to bother with a test run. You may get a really small over/under shoot when the temp changes or when maintaining a set point at first but nothing bad enough to impact your ferment 😊

Can someone provide me with some guidance on how to get the logging directed to ThingSpeak? I have a channel set up with beer temp, beer setting, fridge temp, fridge setting. I'm not sure of the strings for data type and format. Also, is it possible to log out the room temp too? Thanks!

Success! Actually it was the soldering - but on the headers I'd soldered onto the board itself, I had a dodgy connection on D10! Thanks for everyone's help :ban:

Thanks but no solder joints yet - this is just on a breadboard to prototype it so far. Still scratching my head with this one - the LCD works fine on pins 4 and 5 with a test sketch but nothing on pins 10 and 11 with the i2c BrewPi sketch.

Thanks Asmodeus, I'm starting to get annoyed! The LCD is addressed at 0x27 - I've tested it and it works. I'm using your linked sketch and I have the pins correct as per the github instructions. Contrast has been checked and rechecked! I've also tried both 2.2k and 4.7k pullup resistors...
