Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

You'll find that the algorithm adjusts quick enough on a first brew to not have to bother with a test run. You may get a really small over/under shoot when the temp changes or when maintaining a set point at first but nothing bad enough to impact your ferment 😊

Thanks, I will do :) when I say legacy I do mean the ESP WiFi firmware for Fermentrack use that Thorrak has in his repo.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I think this has been asked before but I can't find an answer - has anyone modified the legacy firmware to allow for the use of one of those mini OLED displays? I have a few in my parts box and it would be cool to have them display minimal information. Some of my controllers will only be used...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Thanks - I did have a look at this also but my soldering skills are not up to SMDs :)

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Thank you - I decided to go with Oshpark as I like the purple :) Hopefully the current situation doesn't delay international shipping too much.

Thorrak - Actually - i just realised that this may seem incredibly ungrateful of me if you receive any commission from the US PCB manufacturers? Happy to order from them so you get something back.

You are the man. Thanks very much for this, I’m in the UK so I’m off to find some more local fabricators. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I did think of this first but I would always know they were there, in the enclosure, out of sight .... Hmmm

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I like your style! Putting the breakout in the same box, why didn't I think of that? 🤔 I suppose I could dispense with the network cable and just solder short cable runs. Of course I could just do that to the main board and throw a bit of stripboard in there but I have some pride ...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Phew, what a thread! Just read through the whole thing in one sitting! I have a BrewPi Uno board based controller that connects via Bluetooth to my Pi that has been running continuously for at least 4 years. I finally took the plunge and upgraded to Fermentrack. I've yet to run a brew through...

BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

Can anyone help out with getting a small OLED to work as the display? I changed 224 and 225 of config.h to read #define BREWPI_OLED128x64_LCD 1 //#define BREWPI_IIC_LCD 1 Then got compilation errors saying that SSD1306.h didn't exist. So I installed the Adafruit SSD1306 library but still no...

Thanks - I was following Vito's blog post but have now switched to the GitHub pages and am happily logging out now.

BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

Can someone provide me with some guidance on how to get the logging directed to ThingSpeak? I have a channel set up with beer temp, beer setting, fridge temp, fridge setting. I'm not sure of the strings for data type and format. Also, is it possible to log out the room temp too? Thanks!

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

Success! Actually it was the soldering - but on the headers I'd soldered onto the board itself, I had a dodgy connection on D10! Thanks for everyone's help :ban:

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

Thanks but no solder joints yet - this is just on a breadboard to prototype it so far. Still scratching my head with this one - the LCD works fine on pins 4 and 5 with a test sketch but nothing on pins 10 and 11 with the i2c BrewPi sketch.

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

Thanks Asmodeus, I'm starting to get annoyed! The LCD is addressed at 0x27 - I've tested it and it works. I'm using your linked sketch and I have the pins correct as per the github instructions. Contrast has been checked and rechecked! I've also tried both 2.2k and 4.7k pullup resistors...

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

Hi, I'm still not getting this - I have my Arduino Nano wired up to the i2c LCD, pins 10 and 11. The Hex file uploaded succesfully, and the web interface recognises the script running but I still have nothing on the lcd display? I've tried swapping the two data lines in case I have the pin...
