Best Kettles for an Electric Brewery

I thought I had seen the Blichmanns at 500+ for those kettles, then realized that's the ones that are modified: https://www.morebeer.com/products/boilermaker-g2-electric-15-gal-240-brew-pot-blichmann-engineering.html

    Simple Questions Thread

I've a lot of simple questions, and don't want to spam this forum with tons of individual posts. 1. What is the most sanitary form of fittings for kettles? 2. Do automatic pump systems rely on constant recirculation via pumps, or do they have valves on the kettles they can turn on and off via...

Best Kettles for an Electric Brewery

Oh man, those are pretty. Almost half the price of Blichmann to boot!

Best Kettles for an Electric Brewery

What should I be looking for in kettles for an all-electric brewery? Does anyone make them with the fittings necessary for pumps, or is that a purely DIY/hire a welder sort of thing?

    That's just too freaking awesome.

The building of a New Brewery

Well what are you automating with the mash rake though? Different speeds depending on temp? I'm just trying to understand the process you use. I watched the 3 minute long video, and as far as I could see you were only automating the induction burner itself.

The building of a New Brewery

This is great to be able to watch this off and on today. Once I move out to California, I'm going to start putting together a build very similar to yours. Do you just set the rake for your decoction vessel to on, or is it automated in any way?

Decoction brewers, what do you use? Post pictures!

I need more information on your decoction unit. Are you using induction? How did you rig the stirring? I can't see most of the images in your build thread you linked the other day. I did watch your brew-day video. It's amazing how I came to the same conclusions for my future build as you...

    Induction burner for decoctions?

How many watts would I need for doing decoctions with an induction burner?

Ideas for a propane, HLT/MLT/Decoction Kettle/Kettle/ Pump System?

I've done so much reading in the past day. I'm considering just going electric, and using an induction plate and an induction pot for doing decoctions on.

Decoction brewers, what do you use? Post pictures!

Instead of asking you what I should use, why don't you decoction brewers show off your setups and explain why you use what you use? Post pictures!

    200,000 BTU natural gas burner!

I've never owned a home, and it's been awhile since I lived with my family (10 years) in one. It's been apartments. Where I'm moving this summer has natural gas - will any rental home have a hookup, or only some? How does that work? I know when we buy a home in 2 years or so we'll buy...

    10 Gallon: Electric vs Gas

Can you do decoction or step mashing or both with an electric setup?

Ideas for a propane, HLT/MLT/Decoction Kettle/Kettle/ Pump System?

I'm working on a parts list for a propane, 2-3 burner setup with multiple pumps to do decoction all grain brewing with. 10 gallon capacity. What would be your recs for such a system? I'm thinking that the spare decoction kettle will help tremendously with the process, as I won't have...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

Right, but it's a lot more difficult to do on hot-dipped galv, which is what galv strut is. It would be a lot safer, and easier, and less time just to grind it off. That guy in the video has a good point about the inside and grinding. I know most conduit is hot-dip galv, no idea if what...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

Aren't these "fire" or hot-dipped galv? If so, acid isn't going to work. I think you'd be better off grinding - a lot safer, too. I think for mine I'm just going to pony up for the SS and not worry about it.

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

Further reading indicates that yes, it is a bad idea to just burn it off. Explains many things about my family from the deep south and their "projects" The question is, just how much of the top is necessary? Due to how these things are built, everything that is above the plane of the burner?

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

Is there really a point in getting a SS top if the galvanization can burn off?

    Best Design for Glycol Chiller

Would a glycol chiller be more energy efficient than using a fridge/freezer for controlling fermentation temps on the 5-10 gallon scale?

I'm moving to Visalia in July. I have a feeling I'll need to homebrew just to have good beer!
