Orange Beach/Gulf Shores Alabama - Best Place to Buy Beer

Wondering if anyone knows of a quality establishment in the area... I can usually find something with a google search but have come up empty handed on Orange Beach. Thanks!

    What the heck is this?

Thanks guys! It is bottled. I gave it a taste... not too shabby! Maybe the pics didn't do it justice. Nothing I have seen before. The surface of the beer looked good. This bubble seemed to be encapsulated by a film though... covered in white specks. It popped and I moved on.

    What the heck is this?

Actually, I never did see the stringy stuff but the first two pics look a lot like what it was doing before the cold crash. I passed it off as some secondary activity.

    What the heck is this?

Just pulled this out of the cold crashing freezer to bottle. This doesn't look right. Any ideas?

Question on the handling of hops...

Dry hopping... Went to my LHB to pick up my hops. I always get my hops from a mail order house. Everything comes neatly packaged in 1oz. vacuum packed baggies... it seems sterile. When I asked for several different hops in 1oz. increments, my local guy went and opened up large bags of...

Can anyone identify this? Trouble in the Primary.

Exactly what I was thinking. Thanks guys... feeling better about this one... I JUST don't remember this much sediment clinging to the walls... in the past. Perhaps it is perfectly natural!

Can anyone identify this? Trouble in the Primary.

Revvy, Would scale cause any off flavors or infection? I did let both of these sit with StarSan in them for about an hour each. Would removing the scale take a longer "soak"?

Can anyone identify this? Trouble in the Primary.

Hey Guys, After another break from home brewing (2nd child) I got back in the game a little over a week ago. I put together two kits... mini-mash... an IPA and a Pale Ale. My equipment has been sitting idle for nearly a year. I began by an overnight oxiclean soak of both of my carboys. Both...

    Problem with Carbonation

Thanks Revvy. I'll give it a couple of weeks.

    Problem with Carbonation

Nope.... nothing like that. Proper caps and proper bottles here. I haven't even tried capping a twist-off. Most of my bottles are Sam Adams or Sierra Nevada. I DO getting a hint of a "pop" when I open the bottles. However, pouring the bear... no head.

    Problem with Carbonation

12oz. bottles 70 - 72 degrees Siphon to bottling bucket... adding priming sugar (4.5 oz.) which has been boiled 5 minutes with 2 cups of water. The siphon tube lays in the bottom of the bucket (wrapping the inside diameter of the bucket) creating a whirlpool as the beer incorporates into the...

    Problem with Carbonation

Bottling today... My last few beers have gone 3 weeks or more in the bottle. Each of them has failed to develop proper carbonation. Anything that I may be missing? Just a thought... I have been using Dawn to wash my bottling bucket and hoses... but rinsing thoroughly. Any chance that could...
