Step by Step build a 110v portable PID controller

I'm almost done with this build. I wasn't clear about what to use to attach the heat probe, but did plenty of research. It's all good.

Step by Step build a 110v portable PID controller

I realize this is an old thread, but I just found it and I'm converting my pot using Disintegr8or's design. What part was used on the pot to connect the thermocouple?

    No cherry taste

Pie filling? I looked at that in the store, but didn't think it would work. Thanks for that tidbit. Sorry for the double post. Still new to the forum thing. Rookie!

Really! I looked at pie filling, but didn't think it would work. Thanks for that info.

    No cherry taste

I'll try the fresh/frozen fruit next time. Thanks!

    No cherry taste

Added cherry to the bottling vessel along with the corn sugar, racked the wort on to that. I am still bottling. I used a cherry flavoring bought from the local HBS. I suspect the flavoring is weak. The bottle did recommend 2 oz per 5 gallon. I used enough for 15 gallons.

    No cherry taste

I put together a recipe myself. It is basically a wheat beer, so I decided to try a cherry wheat again. The first time I used 2 oz of cherry flavoring, but tasted nothing. This time I added the balance of that bottle and another 4 oz bottle. 6 oz! Still no taste. Granted it carbed up in just 2...

    Really fast carbonation

I'm not sure, but I'll keep track next time. I think they were near the start. I chilled a glass bottle on day 5 and drank it on day 7. It was carbed perfectly.

    Really fast carbonation

Thanks all, I didn't think about the Co2 getting absorbed back into the beer. I'm glad I posted here first before popping one open. Thanks again!

    Really fast carbonation

I bottled an English Bitters on the 20th. Whenever I bottle with glass I include at least one PET bottle as a tester. This time there were two. I was checking on another beer and happened to notice that both testers were rock hard. That's only 4 days. How is this possible? It's always taken...

    Fermentation heat

I recently built a heat only ferm chamber. My basement gets chilly in the winter. I've read that fermentation can cause excess heat, therefore I set the temp to about 65. I haven't seen an increase in temp and it's been 3 days. I'm still using mr beer LBKs. If anyone is familiar with these, they...

    Thanks Calder, good to know.

    Off flavor

Yooper, I let both batches sit since You answered. Both cleared up, no off flavor so. Thanks for the help.

    Pilsen LME

I noticed the 33 lb growlers online that figure out to about half the cost of the 3.3 lb cans that I've been buying. I brew in small batches and use just 3.3 lbs. at a time. Is it possible to split the growler into smaller quantities? Is it necessary for storage purposes? My LHBS has the...

Under-pitched? Does that mean not enough yeast?

The temp in the fermenter was at 68. It's been bottled. I did check the FG, but didn't taste it. I will be from now on. It was in the fermenter for 19 days. Thanks for the great info.
