I just brewed the haziest beer yet and it is opaque! I believe it was a combination of 20% oats, dryhopping with 6 oz. 24 hours into primary ferm then 4 more oz as ferm slowed, using omega oyl 011yeast and a gentle boil. Also no whirlfloc. This beer looks like creamy OJ.
Has anyone here actually drank any top ne ipas? Trillium, treehouse, hill farmstead, grimm, bissel? They have a mouthfeel that no other ipas style compares to. Its like biting into a cloud of juice. Almost feels like it evaporates off the palate and has no harsh bitterness or astringency. These...
Very similar to my ipa's. Though I would drop the crystal completely or go down to 40 or 20. Keep the crystal malts to 5% or less of the grist. Also you may consider upping flameout hops and dry hops. Sounds good!
Very similar to my procees. Let me ask you what you go by in getting an accurate mash temp reading? Ive started using a similar kettle recently and the built in kettle probe can read almost 10 degrees differnt from 12" dial thermometer i have.
No those were the temps from the carboy stick on thermometer. Or is that just an ambient air temp they read? It was mostly between 66-68. Maybe 70 at the highest.
